Unhappy Vista SP1 N5200 access issue through DFS

    Hi All,

I have two N5200s which have been running fine through a distributed file share via windows SBS2003. The N5200s ACL lists are linked to groups in the active directory.

However a recently bought laptop running Vista SP1 refused to connect to any of the shares, reporting an Access denied error. I have a second laptop running Vista which to test my theory I upgraded to SP1... and immediately afterwards I get access denied on the file shares !

I have found that if I add individual logins to the ACL for each share then I can get access. However groups are a no go.

I'm not sure if Thecus can do anything about this or wether its purely vista SP1. But I thought I'd post to see if anyone else had the problem or even a solution !

    Thanks.

Re: Vista SP1 N5200 access issue through DFS

I found a user that had never used the Vista SP1 laptop before and had them log in..
They are part of a group that should have access to the folders in question and he can access via his XP machine.
But - he could not access via Vista SP1 laptop...
I added his specific user name to the ACL for a folder.. and success for that folder. Other folders that had his group but not his login still had no access.

It just dos'nt seem to like Active directory user groups...

    Many thanks for any help...
