N7700 Can't add third RAID group - help!

I have an N7700 with two existing RAID groups, configured as:

1 - JBOD single drive, master RAID group
2,3,4,5,6 - RAID 10 with hot spare, iSCSI target
    7 - empty

I am trying to add a drive into slot 7 and create another JBOD raid group, but after I click "create" on the raid info page, the system lets me select the drive as "used", but shows all RAID type configuration options as grayed-out.

I initially tried with a WD20EADS 2Tb drive (I know this isnt officially supported yet), and then again with another 300gb drive which I had previous used to build a test RAID group. Same problem.

    I am running firmware 3.00.07a.

    Thanks!

    Dear witenoize,

It looks like you have already used all 7 Hdd bays.

1 - JBOD single drive, master RAID group
2,3,4,5,6 - RAID 10 with hot spare, iSCSI target

Please provide me with a screen shot for better assistance.

Re: N7700 Can't add third RAID group - help!

The N7700 has seven drive bays - I am trying to create a single-drive JBOD RAID group in the currently empty seventh bay. The N7700 specs say that it should be able to support three RAID groups. I currently have two.

I would attach an image to show you the create raid interface and the gray-ed out buttons, but it appears that the attachment functionality has been disabled for this forum. Let me know if there is some other way to get you the screen grab.

FYI - Thecus has responded to my original support request - they have verified that this is a bug in the firmware and they are working on it. Quickly, I hope...
