Hello! Check out my Rig and upcoming upgrades here...

Hi all, I'm new here. I signed up to see if I could get free scan delivery, but needed 25 posts first so just ordered my upgrades without posting

    Anyway my current system is:

    AMD Athlon X2 4400+ @ 2600 Mhz
    Asus A8R32-MVP deluxe
    2 gig G skill DDR 500 Mhz @ 2.5-2-3-5
    Ati X1900 XTX
    Creative X-fi Elite Pro
    Gigaworks THK 7.1 speakers
Maxtor 300 gig sata 1 8 Mb cashe HD
Samsung Spinpoint 500 gig 16 meg cashe HD
    Aerocool Aeroengine II case
    Tagan 580 watt modular PSU.

And I ordered the following components for my upgrade:

    Intel C2D 8400
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

    MSI P35 NEO2-FR
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

    Asus Silent Knight II
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

    2x G.Skill 2GB DDR2
    G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HK PC2-6400C4 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400CL4D-2GBHK)

The ram in particular made my jaw hit the floor with its price and reading this review:

    VR-Zone : Technology Beats - GSkill F2-6400CL4D-2GBHK Review

    It does up to 1020 Mhz @ 4-4-3-5, 1140 Mhz @ 5-5-5-15 and 1200 Mhz @ 5-6-6-18, all for just £43 per pair!

I definatlely cant wait to get OC'ing with this. Also I'll be upgrading my GFX card to one of these when it gets released and drops in price to £250:

Powercolor cuts the Radeon HD 3870X2 size

My current order cost me £340 including some Akasa Tim fluid to clean my current parts, and a £10 fee from scan to update the motherboards bios prior to shipping so the E8400 will work. I'm also Aiming to Ebay my 4400+, ram, mobo, and a sony ericsson k800i for £50-75 each. if I get my £75 target this upgrade will have been almost free XD. I also have a Failing / Broken Asus A8N-SLI motherboard to sell with all the cables for parts, hopefully I can get £15-25 for this as well.

Also, heres some pics of my rig for you to enjoy:

Cant wait to get my G.skill glow in the dark stickers with my ram and my Asus silent knight 2 for a CPU light XD. Ram will arrive later today, and the rest when the E8400 comes in stock.

Well thats a long first post, hopefully there isnt too many typos. Hi again !!!!!!

P.S. I also have a technical beta key for Age of Conan and the download should be available within the next few days, so that will give me something to test my rig on

Edit - done my 5 costuctive posts yay! Another 20 to go for free delivery, and... erm, another year to wait for my next upgrade lol.

    ooooo....

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

    !!! Want want want XD

Re: Hello! Check out my Rig and upcoming upgrades here...

    Got my upgrades done

I have my E8400 running 100% stable at 3825 Mhz @ 1.3v with my ram at 1020 Mhz @ 4-4-3-9. The ram needs to be at 1020 for its maximum efficiency as this is the highest speed it will work at its low 4-4-3-5 latencies. Going up to 1066 requires loosening the latencies too much and bandwidth suffers:

    1020 Mhz @ 4-4-3-9 - 7.67 Gb/s
    1066 Mhz @ 5-5-5-15 - 6.5 Gb/s
    1120 Mhz @ 5-5-5-15 - 6.9 Gb/s

My Motherboards stock bios doesnt support 4 gig of ram or a Tras lower then 9, so I'm stuck with using 2 gigs for now and a Tras of 9 instead of 5

Also updating my bios is going to be a pain. The MSI updater isnt vista compatible, and when I boot into XP my USB slots dont work without the chipset drivers and I completely cannot find one of my ancient PS2 mice.

Hmmm, I wonder if I can install the motherboard drivers using just a PS2 keyboard and pressing tab and enter lol. What a pain thats going to be.

Re: Hello! Check out my Rig and upcoming upgrades here...

YAYS!!!! I put my old parts up on ebay today and two of them already sold!

    I got £85 for my 4400+, and £75 for my A8R32-MVP deluxe!

Considering that I paid £129 for the E8400 and £66 for the MSI P35 Neo, thats pretty decent!

    Now I still have my Uber rare G. Skill DDR1 ram up for £80. The stuff that does 400 Mhz @ 2-3-2-5, 500 Mhz @ 2.5-3-2-5, and 550 Mhz @ 3-3-2-8!

(And my new ram cost me £42 per pair lol)

I'm a cheeky sod selling for so high
