Hello again bathuu - if its for the x1950pro VRM heatsink im sure that you can use just the normal Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound as it sticks hard after, also not sure if you have seen this thread http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/forum...&page=17&pp=10

but if you check out thread 164 in particular it shows how someone has modded with ram sinks...

If i cant get hold of the arctic cooling specific heatsink - i will go down this way i think

If its for the voltage reg on ATI cards, you need the thicker waxy type pad, if its for little heatsinks, do a search on fleabay for shinetsu thermal tape, its good stuff

Yeap if we dont find that Arctic VRM cooler module, definetely we need to do DIY. thats why i was after termal pad, glue, vram heatsink whatever. Before this u posted this topic.
PowerColors PCB doesnot have any holes around VRM area like Sapphire's PCB. So only chance is stick the heatsink on VRM.

I damn blame PowerColor on this case. How they could be so blind. It's not even stable at stock speed. So just wondering they seem dont even test cards under heavy load before they release it.

VRzone tested temperature of VRMs on PowerColor X1950 pro. And horribly GPU VRM reaches 114C, memory VRM 75C just after 2 minutes of 3D load. And it reaches 126C VRM shutdown itself, and screen goes black.

I found a pdf with very limited install details
    http://www.arctic-cooling.com/downlo...k_X1950Pro.pdf

    - just says that there are thermal pads that come with the heat spreader - says just lift of protective film and press it firmly in place on the card in the correct position. So would these pads act like a adhesive then you think? as there are no mention about the screw holes that are on my card.

I found this link slightly better than the last with further mod info -> http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.p...90&data=7&disc

Depending on what the adhesive we get might also check out the pads/tape that chunk mentioned.

If I've understood your numbers, then the temperatures do look high. Although most people put in some kind of BIOS safeguard around 70 degrees for CPUs, you can run GPUs much hotter than that. However, most of the feedback we've seen on this subject leads us to believe that 'real damage' can occur around the 120 degree mark. Have you tried contacting your original card supplier, or maybe PowerColor direct? Our guys will try and help you, but this might be easier with the OEM

HI CK, this temp is not about graphic core, its VRM. Graphic core is operating much safe temp around 35-55C.
And good idea, lets make enquiry about this case on PowerColor. How they think about this problem. Probably send some free VRM heatsink?
