but, i now have the VRM heatsink anyway so would i be right in saying the acutual CPU h/s/f itself is the same model in both the old and the packaging?

If so i will just come along and buy the actual old hsf (it looks the same in all the pictures)
The link you have given is basically the same product i.e Accelero X2 and this is the newer version which already comes bundled with special VR heat spreader module for X1950 series but probably website has not been updated to take this into effect. Arctic cooling has not made any changes at all to the Cooler itself, its just that now they are bundling this additional module with it and as per i remember i dont think so that price has changed at all due to this additional bit. However they are coming bundled with the fan so i am afraid but they are not avaialble on their own.

Oh well - came and got the new cooler from you guys on friday. Fitted it fine along with the VRM heatsink -but issue still persists. Not your guys fault, just this dumb graphic card. Never going to buy sapphire card again, i should of RMA'ed it from the start. Posted another thread as a last ditch cry for help in case anyone has any ideas below...

Hi Barricelo, I think only VRM causing that problem, other than that GPU, memory, pcb stuffs should be ok. As seen on picture Accelero X2 VRM cooler module is just flat metal, so i guess u still need to stick extra heatsink on VRM cooler something like Zalman VGA memory heatsink and some fan blowing directly to that double heatsinked damn hot VRM to calm down.

Without fan my card lasts about 1 min before screen goes black on ATI tool scan artificat test, with some hand cutted heatsink (holding by finger, finger almost gets burnt )and fan blowing to it, it lasts about 2 min, imrovement? huh, kk
