Hi there,

Will you be stocking the black carbon version of the Asus VX2? If so, will it be the same price as the yellow one?

Also, what are the main differences between the VX1 and VX2? CPU and memory are the same, right? Aside from the cosmetics, are the only real differences the OS, upgraded graphics card, higher resolution and widescreen? Aside from resolution, does the screen quality differ in the models?

You've got it all as far as i know though. It's now essentially a G1 in a more sleek chassis and has a T7400 cpu rather than the T7200

The VX1-5E010P has a T7400 cpu too. I'm not too bothered about the graphics card update as I'm not a gamer, but I'm being drawn to the VX2 as it has a higher resolution screen.

Okay, I got you now - I misunderstood what you wrote.

I know the specs are similar, but I really dislike the design of the G1 and the G2 especially. I've pretty much set myself on an ASUS machine now, and am now trying to decide upon which model.

I am considering VX1, V1J, VX2, or possibly V2J when it comes out here. I'd prefer an nvidia GPU since I'm a Linux user and ATI Linux drivers suck, but this isn't critical. I don't know, maybe I should wait for Santa Rosa refreshes, but those Lamborghini's are so tempting...

staffsMike - do you work for yoyotech? in any case, do you know anything about the availability of the black carbon VX2? Most websites only seem to stock the yellow model.

I didn't actually think the VX2 was avaliable in this country yet as Hexus did a preview for it only a few weeks ago..but I did notice it on here the other day.

I imagine stocks are very limited and the black ones even less so for any retailers over here.

Hopefully the yoyotech guys will know different

Hello, You can get hold of the VX2 in yellow readily on the market. But on the black i have informed that it is going to be 4-6weeks before it will be available in the market. If i do get any before that time(which i am trying very hard to) i will post it on this thread.

Thanks Ravi. I read on Reg Hardware that the black carbon fiber model is limited to just 100. Will it be the same price as the yellow model?

Because there is only limited stock coming into the market, i doubt it will be the same price. But we can only know once they come in.

The US on-line resellers seem to be selling them both for the same price, so I guess it will be the same here. But only time will tell I suppose...

Just to update, Asus have come back saying that the VX2 in black should be available in the first week of May.

one shop seems to have them for about £60 more than the yellow and eta of this month if thats anything to go by.
