Abit IP35-PRO is up for Pre-Orders now, Based on new Intel P35 supports 1333 FSB

Hey Everybody. We have Abit IP35-PRO now up for Pre-Orders @ YOYOtech. This is based on the new Intel P35 chipset and officialy supports 1333MHz FSB and is compatible with Penryn (A future release chip which is basically next generation Intel Core 2 Duos based on 45nm fabrication process).
The Abit IP35-PRO is based on Intel P35 chipset which is based on 65nm fabrication process as opposed to 90nm for Intel 965 or 975 chipsets so it would be cooler running, more power effecient and should be even better overclockers than 965 chipset boards. Keeping in mind Abit's reputation for producing excellent boards for overclocking based on Intel chipsets like AB9 QuadGTs and AW9D-MAXs, i do have extremely high hopes for this board. The icing on the cake is that despite of all the bells and whistles of a top-end board, ABIT IP35-PRO is dirt cheap. Have a look for yourself

Urg, why did they have to add the heat-pipe thing on again?

Makes water cooling a PITA, and it doesnt offer that much advantage.

Hope the mountings for the power reg's are the same as the QuadGT.

Good price though, especially for the pro version. Tempted

Sorry to revive the thread (only 9 days old) but any comparisions to Asus P5K? I used to love asus but bought an abit nf m2 based on a recommendation and was amazed!

And for the price, it certainly seems a much better buy .

Gilgamesh is meant to be receiving 1 tomorrow if all goe right re. carriage from the Netherlands.

Initial thoughts after the weekend then perhaps but it's certainly looks way better vfm at current pricing.

Not yet, but if going by current ASUS boards, the main difference will probably be that the Abit actually works

hard to say seeing as no-one has one ...

However, it's predecessor the AB9 QuadGT imo is & again imo it's better value plus it gives you 45nm support.

Probably, that was based on the 965 chipset which is slightly older. Whos to say though, abit may have well and truly messed up! I doubt it thogh, if you go on abit's forums I've asked about what people think of abit boards and they all rate them. The Asus P5B standard uses the ICH8 chipset which doesn't support raid stuff, which if you like a lot of hard drives and like improving their performance / data safety is not a good thing .

Is this better than the Asus P5K Deluxe? (It's P35 chipset equivilent) Well, it's £50 cheaper for a start . But I expect they'll both be pretty good boards, you get extras bundled with the asus but not so much with the abit.

Hello guyz, i apologize for being a bit late to notify the hexus fraternity about this but it is correct that the price has been revised upward by Abit on IP35-PRO and slightly on IP35 as well. I recieved an email from abit on thusday, 31/05/07 informing about the price change which according to Abit was attributed to an error in the email that they received from their headquarters (taiwan mucked up again).

So thats the whole story but according to the new pricing from Abit, this is a very competitive price and if you believe some other e-tailers are charging much less then us, then that could only be due to 2 reasons:
1. They did not have any communication with Abit regarding this and they are just assuming the pricing on some basis.
2. They have not updated their websites to put this into effect according to the new prices.

But TBH it does make much more sense bcoz keeping in mind the quality and performance of Abit motherboards i was actually shocked at the earlier pricing that i got from Abit especially for the IP-35 PRO and IP35 versions.
IP35-PRO would be pitched against P5K-DELUXE and basically is pretty similar apart from wifi on P5K-DELUXE, and IP35 which is a better board than P5K due to ICH9R and not ICH9 southbridge would be slated against P5K.
So in business terms it does make more sense now.
But any way guys the whole story is here and you will see other e-tailers following the same changes very soon.
