Help needed, Mouse, keyboard & Monitor, no signal

    Hello there,

I hope someone can help, just received my order from Yoyotech and have spent the latter part of the day building. Basically I turn on the PC and the monitor, keyboard and mouse are all dead. I really hope that there is a simple solution rather then the possible dead Mobo or CPU.

    Pc details are as follows;

Ezcool 700W Infinity ATX Powersupply SLI Ready, Dual 12V Rails

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3Ghz Socket 775 CPU - Retail

Asus P5B-VM DO (DIGITAL OFFICE) Socket 775 CORE2, DUAL DDR2, PCI

    OCZ Dual Channel 1GB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Platinum Memory x2

    XFX PV-T80G-GHD9 Geforce 8800GTS XXX Edition, 320MB GDDR3, PCI E

    Seagate 400GB 7200RPM 16MB SATA 2 Hard Disk Drive

    NEC AD-7170A-0B Multiwriter Black 18x DVD±RW

Antec NSK6580 Super Midi Tower Case ATX, 430 PSU - Black/Silver

    Thanks in advance

DO the fans turn on? Are there any beeps from the speaker? have you double-checked the front-panel connections to make sure you haven't shorted the reset pin?

Open up the case and look at the front-panel connections (bottom-right of the MB, labeled PANEL). The only connection you absolutely need is the one to the power switch, so pull off the rest. This may not be the problem, but is part of the troubleshooting process.

Reseat everything (take it out of the socket and put it back in) - CPU, RAM, Video card. Sorry, these are just general troubleshooting ideas.

No luck unfortunatley, shall I assume its the CPU or the Mobo? Or is there anything else i can try?

Lack of beeps does suggest the Mobo. But I've seen similar problems with a board that wasn't flashed to support the latest Gfx cards. Since you're posting on the YoyoTech forum, I think they'd have to take over from here.

Re: Help needed, Mouse, keyboard & Monitor, no signal

hi there, i have looked into this and belive it could have something to do with the front side bus of the board....
the board has a front side bus of 1066, but the cpu has the 1333 front side bus....

this means the the board cannot read the cpu correctly, so the fans and everything will come on, but you will get no display.....

please phone us on 0870 027 11 26, and we can see if we can help you to sort this out....

    thank you
    mark
