Re: YOYOtech new BETA website - Launch

    Hi there,

looks good. Always happy to see something improving and a request for feedback that is actually listened to. Only spent a couple of minutes on it so far but have some initial comments ...

Using Firefox. On the front page the buttons in the left hand menu light up OK when hovering the mouse over them, but when moving the mouse over the actual text label, the highlight overlaps to the button above. Cosmetic only I guess.

Searching by categories. It would be good to group/order/present the categories in a way that makes more sense for the user. For example, when from the front page left menu I select graphics cards, I then have to select graphics cards again to get to the actual cards. Then I have a load more categories to help me narrow my results. Great, but the second category is memory speed. Who honestly searches for a graphics card by memory speed? You should move the most often used categories (e.g. in this case GPU) to the top.

Price bands as a category? Similar to above but add a price band category to narrow results down for a budget-concious shopper?

Multiple selections from one category? Would it be possible to choose multiple selections from a single category - e.g. in the graphics card case if I wanted to show all cards from both 8800GT and 8800GTS.

Presentation of search results. When viewing the search results in the list, each entry takes up too much space. I think there is no need to show volume discounts on this page at all (OK I know it can be turned off, but still...). For a laptop user at 1024 resolution, each line in the search results (using graphics cards as an example again) takes up half the screen - only slightly less when turning off all the options and setting 'no specifications'. Can you set the default sort to price ascending? Can you also add an option to only show items in stock?

Sorry if this is sounding negative - I really do like it and think its a definite improvement over the current site.

    Dave

    thanks for your valuable feedback.
    1) with firefox, there is slight hovering problem on left hand side which we are trying to resolve
    2) i am glad that you like our guided search criteria. i need advice for you guyz when it comes to searching. and we will sort them accordingly
    3) We had included price band but due to some coding problems, we took it off. But it will be on the website as soon as we resolve the issue
    4) for 8800GT and 8800GTS, u need to search as 8800GT, and it will show all the results related to 8800GT and 8800GTS.

please keep browsing our website and give us feedback

    thanx

Will you be adding prices including VAT? Perhaps it is worth abandoning the ex VAT price on the site?

Oops, just seen the tab at the top right of the page allowing to switch between inc and ex VAT prices...

Would it be possible to make this default to inc VAT?
