The best graphics card that up to £140 will buy

I was hoping people could recommend to me which exact graphics card i could purchase that'll be the best for the money.

    I have thought about getting the X1900GT, X1950Pro, 7600GT, 7600GS

    thanks

Get a X1950pro as it is faster than the 7600GT. It is cheap enough and will keep you happy until newer DX10 cards arrive.

Just check some reviews. It has got 36 pixelpipelines

    Check on Hexus.net for reviews

    Guys

If i presume that we are talking about £140 approx. than you all are missing on XFX7900GS XXX edition which is again a very good card.
Again the decision would depend upon wheather u r an Nvidia fan or an ATI buff and also slightly on how tight you are on your budget.
    I say ATI1950PRO or XFX7900GS XXX edition.

You obviously don't know a lot about graphics card, you can't just look at one aspect of a card because it will mean that you end up buying rubbish all of the time.

I don't think the Fatal1ty card will be all that useful to you... And although i'm very much a Nvidia fanboy, the X1950 Pro beats anything of its class hands down.

7600s only have a 128-bit mem bus vs 256-bit on the 7900 - i.e. double the memory bandwidth at the same speed. 7900s also have more 'pipelines' (20/7 vs 12/5 in the case of the 7900GS and 7600GT)... So in summary no 7600 is competition for a 7900. So if you've got the cash go for a 7900...

    Or a 1950 as said ^^^

thanks for the tips and advice guys i really appreciate it. I won't be purchasing the 7600.

    Now i'm torn between a X1900GT and a X1950Pro. I'm told the X1900GT is better?

Don't be sucked into the 'stop gap' 1900GT

It was never meant to be - the 1950 is NEXT GEN

Yes, he is right in pointing out that 1950pro is better than 1900gt and also 7600gt.
    1900GT 1950PRO 7600GT Fatal1ty

    Core 575 MHz 575 MHz 650 MHz
    Speed

    Memory 1.2 GHz 1.38 GHz 1.6 GHz
    Speed

But here we are not only comparing speeds because 1950 pro uses 256 bit wide memory bus as compared to 7600gt's 128 bit bus and 1950 also has got more pixel pipelines as compared to 7600gt so it can process more threads simultaneously as compared to 7600gt. So overall it is a much more powerful card as compared to a 7600gt irrespective of how overclocked a 7600gt is.
