    Re: Does E8400 E0 work with FP-IN9 (bios 1.8)?

    Guys,

If you have one E8400 C0 use BIOS 16. If you have E8400 E0 use BIOS18. It supposed to work well, i believe so, since my E8400 C0 works just fine and, now the plus note, i can overclock it like a HELL, 3.8Ghz perfectly stable!!!

    BIOS 18

Also always do your BIOS update via DOS mode, and clear CMOS after the update.

    Good Luck !

Thumbs up Re: Does E8400 E0 work with FP-IN9 (bios 1.8)?

Man i already used BETA BIOS from Abit (also some MODDED BIOS, Version 14 By Germany) and never had a problem with. All BETA BIOS and MODDED BIOS that i have used worked just fine, no probs dude.....

Do you already have the CPU? If yes flash the BIOS 18 Beta under DOS and make a test for us. I can´t remmenber about anyone using this BIOS for E0 E8400 CPU in this forum, some guys tried with Quads but dont work out.

But for Dual Core CPU, like the E8400 E0, i do think will work, that´s because i have one E8400 and it works SOLID like a ROCK, but i do not have a E0 CPU to test for you, dammm.

So you gonna try? If yes, please return with your testing results.

Good Luck man ! Hope it works for you !

    Re: Does E8400 E0 work with FP-IN9 (bios 1.8)?

So, I have an E8400 with E0 stepping. It hasn't worked with BIOS no. 16, but with this new BETA BIOS it runs now. It recognizes it well (what the previous BIOS didn't), and it lets me set up FSB, multipl., voltages... everything.
BUT!: int this FP-IN9 SLI motherboard I can't overclock it very much. I worked on it 2 days, without getting to a stable configuration, and I must say I tried everything. My friend has an E8400 with C0 stepping in the same board with BIOS 16 , and he could overclock it to 3,8GHz stable, and even to 4GHz (but with much higher voltages).
So the result is (according to my tests): with this new BETA BIOS 18 E8400 E0 runs good, but overclocking is limited in FP-IN9 SLI motherborad to 3,375 GHz (FSB 375).

(Plus information: I have G-Skill tuning memories with low voltage, so i don't think these were the weak parts of the test.)

If anyone have other experience with the same configuration (FP-IN9 SLI + E8400 E0), and could manage it to work on higher frequency, than post me please his BIOS settings so I can test it too (voltages, FSB, memory timings, FSB: DRAM ratio)

    Good luck!

Thumbs up Re: Does E8400 E0 work with FP-IN9 (bios 1.8)?

    Hi man,

The E8400 E0 + BIOS18 Beta working with the IN9 would be a nice improvement for this Board users, hope it works with all E0 E8X00 CPU.

About your Ocing with the E0, i believe that some major voltage ajustment could help you to make your O.C stable, at least for me did help, you could try. Your memory could also holding you a little, but i do believe that some voltage on it will help a lot !

Try this for 4.0Ghz, all BIOS settings, the value in windows Abit Eq is a little slower.

My current overclock limit. (perfect stable)
    CPU@4.000Ghz
    MULTI@9X
    UNLINKED MODE
    FSB@444 (1778 Ghz)
    Memory@667
    vCORE@1.475v
    vDIMM@2.0v
    DIMM_REF@+2%
    CPU_VTT@1.46v
    NB@ 1.50v
LDX@5x (do not change this value, the 650i have a built in clock generator so you dont need to change the hypertransport clock to overclock you N.B (N.B comunication with S.B via hypertransport)). If i´m wrong please some one correct me, i have made some tests and little research i this is what i found.

My current daily overclock. (perfect stable)
    CPU@3.774Ghz
    MULTI@8.5
    UNLINKED MODE
    FSB@444 (1778 Ghz)
    Memory@667
    vCORE@1.425v
    vDIMM@2.0v
    DIMM_REF@+2%
    CPU_VTT@1.46v
    NB@ 1.50v

Lock your memo in 667Mhz to easy overclock, this can help if they are holdind you back. Also, my ram is Kingston Value@667 rated at 1.85v, but with this board must use 2.0v (4X 1GB Sticks), anything less than that is not stable. Clear your cmos to start a new over.

    Good Luck dude !

EDIT: Pass FSB@444 there is a big Strap change, i recommend you stay below FSB@444

You must have decent cooling in your N.B and CPU to this settings work well, i would NOT try this with stock cooling in N.B and CPU.

    Good luck!

This is a very good news! At the stock freq is it stable using stress test as Orthos? Overclock is not important for me!

Yes, it is stable! And even with FSB 375. Tested with Orthos (for about 3 hours, Stress and Blend too), Super PI (4M, many times), and played hours and hours with GTA4, Mirros Edge.

Thanks! I'll try it, but the point is, that with C0 others have reached the same frequency as you, but with E0 no one. You have BIOS 16, am I right?
My memories are rated as 800 @ 1.8V with CL5 (5-5-5-15), and @1.9V with CL4 (4-4-4-12). I'm using them now UNLINKED 800 MHz @ 1.9V 4-4-4-12, and are working great. But I'll try then on lower freq, what if...

How can you set 8,5 MULT. in this motherboard? It's impossible with mine! How did you managed to set 8,5x444?

    Re: Does E8400 E0 work with FP-IN9 (bios 1.8)?

I've tried with mine ABIT FP-IN9 and E8400 E0 without sucess.
Updated to BIOS 18 and cleared cmos.

When I power up the system, the cooler runs, but there aren't beep or post.
    I'm disappointed. =//

    Any sugestions ?
