The only viable alternative is to get a different motherboard, there wont be any more BIOS updates, what you have now is all your ever going to get.

Thumbs up Re: Does E8400 E0 work with FP-IN9 (bios 1.8)?

Make the BIOS update in DOS mode, and CLEAR CMOS afer. In this tread there is sucess case with E8400 E0 and BIOS 18 beta. Should work out for you too, you must be doing something wrong i guess.

    Good Luck!

I did the update via windows. With the abit updater. And I gave up.
Came back to my E6750 processor. I'm gonna try not to give money to the computer industry because everything goes obsolete ultra fast =/

Here in Brazil, everything have high taxes, and the highest these are the imported products.

In a year or two, I'm gonna try and upgrade to a i7 platform.

    Thanks guys

    Sou brasileiro tb,

O update de bios não funcionou pq vc fez via windows, neste caso somente irá funcionar se vc fizer via DOS.

Do the BIOS upodate under DOS mode and will work!

    Valeu !

    Re: Does E8400 E0 work with FP-IN9 (bios 1.8)?

I'm also from Brazil (Curitiba) and am having problems with the E8400 E0 and bios 18 beta...

When I first updated the bios the pc worked normaly...

But unusually it stopped working. When turned on, the computer would not beep, and I could hear the Hard Drives starting to spin and turning off, starting again, or a sound that resembled that... And no video signal...

Tried disconecting the power cable from the board (in case it was bad contact) and it worked... but then again on another day, it would stop working...

Tried a diferent PSU... same thing...

    Diferent RAM... same thing....

So I put my E4300 back, and it worked normally on the Beta 18 Bios... Used about two weeks with no problems...

Decided to try the E8400 one more time...
But before, I reflashed the 18 bios (I always flash via DOS), and cleared CMOS

    It worked... for two days...

The same problem again... So I guess it's kind of rare to have the system to work... When it does, I should maintain it always on... Once it's off, who knows when it will work again??

Will Bios 18 final ever be released? or is it the end of our boards?

    80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7
