Don't know about any of you lot but I adored Planetside, and having had a quiet day at work i was trawling the internet of all my old favorite games and came across a few pages that suggested a Planetside 2 release is imminent.
Now I'm not half the gamer I used to be, but I would strongly consider getting into PS2 should it prove a good game. No idea where i would find the time to play it but would love to give it a go!
Anyone else who would consider buying it?
is it still ran by SoE?
I'll probably buy it - i really enjoyed PS
I owould be tempted, still have a few friends that play PS1. One big plus point for me is that it can be pickup and play, even if your in a outfit. While playing PS1 I never felt that people expected that players give up on real life to play it.
I loved Planetside, so I will definitely try out PS2.
Planetside was bloody fantastic. Please bring on PS2!!!

You can get more information, not a lot more, but some. You just need to know where to look! At the moment most of the PS:Next information is being released to the Planetside Universe fansite.
If you search the comments/forums there are several posts from the Sony Online CEO and a few of the developers. Think there are 2-3 Sony Online posts alone in the comments for the "Smed on Planetside Next Delay" news article.
Quite a few of my old outfit (Myriad Apocalypse Project) are back playing the original Planetside now. Heres a picture and video from Sunday. I was flying the lead Liberator with our cameraman in the tailgun of the last Liberator.

Wow blast from the past. Thats wayyyy back to not long after I started MAP. Where you been hiding all this time? I should have you lined up and shot for desertion!
Hopefully, should PlanetSide:Next be a hit, we have around 10-15 MAP members who will be reforming the outfit. Got some of our old Starwolf allies coming back too. MAP and Starwolf members actually went on to play a number of games together; WoW, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Age of Conan, Warhammer online etc etc.
Ran into a few of the Vanu Corporation guys including one guy I played Planetside beta with. They should have a good showing in PS:N and I see Cobalt are still active after all this time too.
Risk, Immortal Serial Killers, Druckwelle etc are still there too. All we need is a date and the Vanu will roll back into action

I never played to original, however I've got quite a few friends who did and are chomping at the bit for this to come out.
