Well guys, those of us who played PS1 should be in the beta and learning to love poor optimisation and incredible graphics, views and sights!

I am under the NDA, but.... this game is phenomenal. Literally rolling with a dozen other tanks+ into a war(not a battle..bigger) zone and running into enemies' tank columns similar size amd all hell breaking loose.

You can be in the thick of it, and where ever you look you are surrounded by people, firing, flying, driving....I can guarantee this game will make your jaw hit the floor. Sitting at the main base in your area, and watching people is like those scenes of new York on a busy day with the hustle and bustle, or scenes from a war film prior to the big push.... tank columns lining up, galaxies and sunderers (heavy transports) setting up/setting off and dozens and dozens of people gearing up and heading off.

Huge huge battles aside (100s and 100s of players on your side alone...) this game is stunning, beautiful, amazing.... even with graphics on low/medium this game blows your mind. The pictures and videos online just don't do it justice.....and then there are the night times, when its dark....and the tracers, headlights, explosion and base lights blow your mind all over again.

The game is bf2 on serious steroids and a scale so much bigger you wouldn't believe....

This will all be free 2 play, then micro transactions for side grades/customisations to cover the costs. Devs have emphasised this will not be pay2win.

They are following 2 organised squads of TR foot as they take a chunk of a VS base and then just area denying it.

I have mixed feelings on that video. Its presents the best and worst of the Planetside community.

The best is obviously the brilliant squad play and massive battle.

The worst? The Outfit involved. Who were hated by the Planetside Community and were disbanded and banned. I can't believe how unfortunate it was for TotalBiscuit to come across these guys. I'm sure he didn't know who it was. Seems like he spent so much time fire fighting and distancing himself from them that in the end he has disabled comments on the video. Poor guy then knocked his Hard disk to the floor and lost 2 days worth of Fraps footage.
Still a positive came out of it as the CEO of SOE came on Reddit and firmly took the side of the Planetside community and effectively issued an ultimatum to that Outfit to change their ways or face exile.

Ahhh I had know idea who it was and from the video I don't think he did ether.

Have to admit the original totally passed me by, but man this looks really good. Looks like they're really playing to F2P's strength's too, rather just making a game, then making it free like a lot of dev's have.

It is still rough around the edges, and does need some work doing to it...but once you play the game as its meant to (ie part of a team) its phenomenal! It is very much BF2/COD like, too much so, for many of us PS1 players but it does work.

The scale of it is crazy, upgrades/side grades to everyone weapon, vehicle and plane and then a multitude of new stuff to try as well. Everything can be customised to your liking from visuals to handling to fire rate.

They are going to be running it through/with Steam, so the player base is going to be massive and best of all, with it being free there is no reason not to try it!

Anyone tried the new patch today? The performance improvement is incredible. Just Default all your settings and restart the game.

I was in one fight this evening with about 25 vehicles and 35 infantry... and that was just my team! Complete carnage as we moved from base to base
