Lol,nc and vs weapons have higher accurracy and DPS. The NS15M I use is a NC weapon - much better than any of the TR weapons outside the chain gun.

Doesn't look good at all and the cold callus statement of corporations realignment of resources and eliminating positions. They could just say job losses but no not in the corporate asset stripping world.

    Sounds fair.
That... kinda makes aircraft pointless. It's a battle that has no effect on anything but the occasional galaxy drop or bomber. I find them pretty balanced as it sits. You don't take an aircraft into a fight unless you are pretty sure you have good support and/or superior skills. It's otherwise a duckhunt for any burster/skyguard on the floor below.

ESF's go down insanely fast to an AA gun manned by anyone with half a brain. If left to rule the area they will do a good bit of damage each time they appear, limp away, patch up and come back to hurt some more. That's... pretty balanced as far as I see it.

Get your whole squad to unload basic main rifles into a passing ESF and watch how quickly it dies

Getting kills in them isn't easy either.

As far as bias goes: yep, I can fly... pretty well but I definitely don't spend more than about 10% of my time in aircraft. If they bother you so much, pull gear to counter them, you get given one of the maxes bursters as a level 1...

With both the various rock/paper/scissors setups (infantry/vehicles/air) and faction weapons compared... I honestly find things relatively balanced and have for ages. If you spend a bit of time with it getting used to how to play/move/etc there's not really many of the weapons that aren't quite effective.

The basic heavy (LMG) weapon on both the VS and TR (not tried the NC version) is definitely VERY effective at the range it's intended for (I think mid-long for both) the VS weapon having no bullet drop + better accuracy, the TR having a massive magazine. About the only other gun I use on the heavy is a (shop credits unlocked so I can use it on any character/class/faction) NS-SMG that does good in short range battles (CQC). There's literally no need to go for anything more crazy. Maybe a shotgun for the fun of it occasionally.

I'd be pretty sad to see the game die atm, it's a definite 1 or 2 nights a week thing to unwind a bit with.

    Re: Planetside 2

Planetside 2 has received one of the biggest patches in its history - The Construction System.
Gather Cortium resources that spawn in the world with the ANT, then use the ANT to place a Silo and build a base with your Squad. The ANT and several structures are free with additional ones available to buy with Daybreak Cash or Certs.

    Video tutorial:

Has anyone played this patch yet? I'm really enjoying it so far. Took part in a 50+ tank zerg to overwhelm an enemy base with a HIVE. The HIVE is used to refine Cortium into Victory Points to capture the continent.
The patch adds a welcome change of direction to the game. Fights are all over the map including many areas that normally don't see any action.

    Re: Planetside 2

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but just got back into PS2 and am so pleased to see it is still ticking on so well! New changes & the added construction elements also look to be thoroughly interesting as well. Not had a go at it myself but have done my best to help defend a few bases - with mixed success!

    Anyone else still playing it?

    Re: Planetside 2

    I still play.

Really enjoying the latest changes to the Valkyrie with the default squad spawn ability and 360 turret. Great for small squads.

While solo I spend most of my time running through the various Directives. Completed the Halloween one the other day have started on the LMG ones. Crazy how powerful a Heavy Assault is coming from mostly playing Medic all this time.

The Construction System is a brilliant addition to the game. We just got the 4th pack of Constructible items. With the Orbital Strike on the test server. I would probably spend more time/ money on the Construction System if it wasn't for the No-build-zones. Feel like I've built in all the best locations already. Still this is nothing that can't be revised.

Devs have been really good at fixing bugs and addressing those small issues that don't seem like much yet make a big difference. For example, new players now get a full default loadout to go into battle with instead of being behind everyone else and needing to grind certs to get on the same level.
