Anyone else get an SMS from Bethere today

Nice ample warning of network maintenence and for once send in a way that I would read as I hardly read automated emails.

Ive got plenty of these routers if anyone is interested.

Can you describe what the ring wire thing is cause I'd like to try it! That definitely looks like a huge improvement worth checking out!

I followed Madducks link and replicated the image at the bottom of the page on my master socket, just ensure you have filters on all of your sockets.

    Re: Be Broadband

Wow. And I mean BIG wow! I removed the bell wire and am now seeing an increase of 100kb/s! Compared to some of the figures above this is nothing but considering I'm right on the edge of my exchange's reach and was only getting 270kb/s previously, this is pretty damn good!

    Re: Be Broadband

I'm gonna try it on Thursday.

any increase in my already stupidly fast connection is going to be a bonus

It means I'll have to listen to my mixes a lot quicker then.

My connection can probably benefit from this. Might have a good poke around later on in the week.

Yup. Went from 2.7Mbit to 3.7Mbit. Not bad for taking out a bit of wire!

    Re: Be Broadband

Mine lost 300 kbps because I opened that plate and put it back in. Didnt do anything with the wires. Maybe the connection is loose or something. I will have to take it off and check everything and put it back in.

Mines got a split front plate - lower half comes off after removing 2 screws. Wires connected to bits on 2, 3 and 5. The "posts" are marked 2 to 5. Which one would need to be removed ?
