    LN27024 - Zotac 9300 mini-ITX - which revision?

    Hi,

I'm looking to do a HTPC build, and the Zotac s775 board looks like it will do the job:

    LN27024 - GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi - Zotac FG9300-D-E, GF 9300, 775, DDR2 800, SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID, Mini ITX w/ WiFi, OnBoard Graphics

The problem is that revisions 1 & 2 don't support wake on USB, so for a HTPC you can only wake it up with the power button, not a remote. According to this post on the zotac forums (http://www.zotacusa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1555)

"The changes in PCB version 03 are the addition of dual-link DVI, support for wake on USB from S3, and an additional internal SATA port. "

    The manual (http://downloads.zotac.com/mediadriv.../man/pa105.pdf) says:
    "Onboard Serial ATA II
    * Two SATA II ports / three SATA II ports(PCB Ver:03,04)."

can you confirm what revision the board you are selling is, or how many sata ports yours has please? Scan's product specifications page doesn't list the number of internal sata ports.

    thanks

No clue as to which revision or how many internal sata ports on this board?

Tinners - I'm guessing you just saw the new ion itx Zotac's announced as well! Thought I'd come back to see if Scan ever did answer and found my old thread right at the top

Looking at other motherboard specs ages, they all list the number of sata sockets. If I were cynical, I'd suggest that the specs page for this board deliberately left off the number of Sata sockets in the internal I/O section...

    Re: LN27024 - Zotac 9300 mini-ITX - which revision?

Thanks Snooty (or do you prefer it shortened to Jim )

Looks like my search continues... Even the new cheaper Zotacs announced on Hexus today (http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=20745) don't fit the bill as they're atoms and I'd prefer a beefier processor for the HTPC box. That said, those new boards may be perfect for the NAS box I want to build.

Anyone from Scan got an idea when these ION ITX-E & ITX-G Synergy Edition boards will be available, or when the new 9300-G-E board will be in stock? Details on 9300-G-E board as per SnootyJim's thread:

ps - I wasn't really suggesting Scan would deliberately hide details of the revision

Either goes, but Jim is my name so I guess that makes more sense

I'm going to PM Philipp re the 9300-G-E, hopefully we can find out what's going on. Zotac are certainly being very cryptic

    SteveNA - Thanks for confirmation.

The more and more I go round I read about what board+CPU combo to go with, the more I think this is the right one for me. Even if I go with an matx case, the matx s775 nvidia 9300 boards seem very think on the ground. I would want wake on USB though!

Jim - I'm sure you will, but can you update if you do hear anything. ta

Please Scan - some news..... I want to get my new system built for W7 and I'm swaying between Micro and Mini. All depends on when this board is available.

ZOTAC GF9300-G-E is now available in the US via the Newegg site.

From the pics you can clearly see 3 sata ports, so hopefully it is only a matter of time that the new board makes it over to the UK.

Finally got my G-E. MWave over here in the US had it two days before Newegg (and they sold out the first day they received stock!).

I hope Zotac releases it soon in the EU.

The issue in a nutshell is that, despite being a great board for a HTPC, Zotac managed to exclude wake on USB in the first revisions

The latest revision to the D-E board was supposed to fix this, but no-one seems to have seen that revision (rev 3 iirc) in the wild. Seems Zotac have decided to ship it as a different model instead, the G-E.

so....... Any idea when Scan are getting the G-E board??
