Whilst we were being wined and dined by the folks at NVIDIA, as they attempted to whisper sweet nothings in to our ear about some new products which were attempting to be ubar we learned something interesting.
At Computex our own master of words Rys reported that VIA had finally caved and submitted a board to NVIDIA to get the SLi logo on the box. Indeed, Rys was right with this story and NVIDIA had recieved the board for testing. It worked, but performance was not up to par.
NVIDIA believe that SLi is a brand about performance, not just compatibility. Therefore VIA were rejected certification.
This was to be the first non-NVIDIA SLi chipset, but according to NVIDIA failed to deliver.
