My city-link delivery guy does actually look like him though though :\ ^^^
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

    lol

Wellll, had deliveries from city link before (a lot of bargain web shops the kind you find via froogle/google products seem to use them) and they usually look pretty average some a bit tubby middle-aged, you know just guys doing their job rather than like there's some kind of army-like strength test (though would be pretty cool if some delivery service made you do an assault course first ha, fedex HARDCORE delivery maybe?)

...Oh, another reason why I've been quite wary about all this is my last PC (that I sent back to Overclockers UK asking for a refund after they kept returning it broken) got lost by DPD somewhere, permanantly... Presumably stolen by an employee at some point (there seems to be no real oversight, if the individual who is supposed to track it doesn't, no one else has any way of knowing what happened to it) since it either got lost as soon as it arrived at the second depot or never arrived - They just gave up.

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

Hey was looking through the bits (leaving the best til last, also smaller package) and noticed that the Sharkoon silencer kit for the fans seems to be unopened, still sealed like it hasn't been used? Unless it's been resealed with the glue at the bottom?

    (sorry for crappy phone pics)

    Hi Perfectionist

This product should have been removed and refunded prior to shipment as is not required.. Would it be possible for you to kindly post back the product to us? and then we can process a refund for you.

    Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Best Regards

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

Lee (P) suggested it to me on the phone when I first placed my order when we were talking about fans and I voiced concerns about possible noise (I hadn't found out until recently that water cooled systems actually had to have fans).

He said the fans are quiet but it would probably help, said it would be added to my system build and added it to it himself...

So are you saying this would have no effect on fan noise when you say it's not required? From looking at the details of the kit it sounds pretty sensible, fan rubber bolts, anti-vibration screws and washers... And that would be saying that this product you sell serves no purpose?

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

Perfectionist, thanks for taking your time to speak with me in regards to this issue.

Just in case anyone else is wondering this kit is not suitable for use on a watercooled machine and should have been removed from the invoice prior to the system shipping.

    Best Regards

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

I have been informed a member of the Build dept has called you to explain.

Because of the value of the product it is not cost effective for us to re-cover the product, therefore we will process a refund for the product back to you, which you can keep and consider as a free gift.

    Best Regards

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

Right ok talked to Philip he cleared it all up no prob, going to send it back!

Apparently you can't put the rubber fan screws through on a radiator because it'd cause leaks, so it's not any good for a watercooled systems and the fan feet wouldn't affect the case being used in this build and actually probably make it worse.
It was meant to be removed but missed (though I think it's a bit weird that someone else put it in the box without thinking why is it unopened)

Anyway no probs, they say they'll refund postage too, I'll pop to post office later when I go shopping.

edit: Was typing that while you guys were typing your replies I think. Ok no probs, I don't have much use for it though if you are sure (I wouldn't think it's worth insuring a parcel like that anyway), I haven't opened it or done anything to it other than look through the seethrough wrapping, royal mail'd do it for only like £1/2 I wouldn't mind paying to be honest, feels a bit awkward

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

That picture is what I felt like when my (almost identical) system arrived. The CityLink guy and myself plus a trolley struggled to get it up some steps and into a lift and he left he at the lift.

It took me 10 minutes to get the f****r down the corridor on my own by sliding it. The friction was practically setting the cardboard packaging on fire by the time I got it to my front door, all the while looking like that picture above. I had backache for days. I had to literally destroy the packaging around the system and slide it under my desk as it was too heavy to be lifted out of it.

All of this is worth it when you get it in place though. It's a beautiful case. Massive, heavy, pefectly finished. It's like a star-eating black hole of gaming goodness.

Re: 3XS Black Widow Extreme (watercooled)

(I think he was looking at the post on the last page and forgot to quote )

Really? I lifted it with the handles on both side of the cardboard box with the delivery guy on the other end of the cardboard box and then brought it upstairs (pretty impressive cardboard to hold it!), was heavy but not like weight heavy? I dunno how much it is I'm crap at judging.

Anyway, I'll go back to unpacking, fright over. As mentioned before I've been burned by computer companies before so always careful however nice people you deal with on the front lines are!

Be super careful with your back! I was lulled into a false sense of security by having the delivery man also lifting it with me. It was getting it out of the packaging on my own that was the hard part.

    Oh and enjoy. =)
