I just bought this board and used the 'One-Click-Update' and seemed to work ok.

Can you not revert to the old bios version or flash it back?

    Not if he cant post.
can you at least get into the bios, I suspect you cant. If you can then you can reflash to 1.3.
Ah I have just seen you are going back to Asus.

I suspect then it was the bootblock option that could have caused this issue. It shouldnt be set to on by default as this seems to have caused this problem with a number of users.

Yeh ive given up i just cant be arsed anymore really, im just gonna get a different motherboard that supports memory better and dont go berserk when you do a simple BIOS Update which was supposed to have fixed stuff, i was thinking about getting a new BIOS but i thought i just cant be borthered with the hassle of changing them over and sorting out postal orders sending that off, spending another £18 on the BIOS Chip itself and then proberly in the future the motherboard does the same and goes wrong all over again or something else happens, its like when youve lost your trust in your hardware your scared to do anything after that, So sorry Abit but i really really am not impressed at all.

Does that count for anyone with this problem?
I am going to update tonight and my board is only 3 days old and im a little put off by this as the AW9D-Max seemed the most reliable of your newer breed of boards.

I will judge it case by case. If you are not having any issues with your motherboard then there is really no reason to do a bios update.

If you really need to update then update to bios 13.

1.3 is a good bios, totally stable for me, 1.4 only if you really need to.

I used the One Click Update and it put on version 13. Does this mean that version 14 is unstable and is not automatically flashed when using One Click Update?

Not sure. That facility is run by abit HQ. It seems to me that some memory are having problems with version 14.
