Unhappy Abit AB9 PRO code 25 error

    Hi, Just put on my bits together today that I ordered from scan and I am getting the following post code, 25, on the motherboard display. The odd time it just goes to C1 and then a few seconds later in reboots and then gets as far as code 25 where it stops. Never get a display put out to the monitor. Here are details of my the PC;

    Abit AB9 PRO m/board
    Corsair Memory 2x1024 - 6400 800MHz (XMs6405v6.2)
Graphics Card Xfx GeForce 7800 GT
    2 x 320 Samsung Hard disks
    Corsair 620w Power Supply

I've read a few things on line. The code 25 suggests graphic card problems, but I've also read protential memory problems. I haven't got any more memory to try in it at home, but I might be able to get some from work on Tuesday. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem? I read one post where someone put slower memory in and worked, but it wasn't clear if they then upgraded the bios and put back the faster memory...

    Forgot to say..

I forgot to say in my previous post...

I've tried using just one stick of memory at a time in all different slots, still the same. Powered the graphics card by the power connector on the card and the one on the m\board for the PCI bus. Even booted without the graphics card in, still the same. Oh yeah and also reseated it about 10 times!

Have exactly the same problem with a QuadGT I bought last week. I followed suit reseating card etc. Thought I had blown my beloved 8800GTX, but I reinstalled my AW9D max and it posted fine with the card.
So tried again after many cups of coffee and debating with myself on the wisdom of buying another mobo. Left cmos batt out reset cmos all the usual palaver.
Guess what error code 25 strikes again. Boards going back to Scan Tues, swap out for a Gigabyte 680i. Dont get me wrong I do like Abit products but since I already have an Abit I thought I'd give a 680i a go.
My advice if you have tried everything inc a full cmos reset then rma the board.

25 is a weird 1 as although it's supposed to relate to gfx it's also been seen to be apparently associated with faulty IDE cables/drives & even keyboards.

    Thumbs up Problem Solved

Thanks for the replies! Indeed it did turn out to be a faulty keyboard, changed it to a wireless one (which I thought might not work from the start) and it did indeed boot. Thanks for pointing me in that direction Buff

Hmm well since I am using the same keyboard cables on this AW9D as on the GT i still think the mobo is faulty.
Well all I can do is have Scan have a look at it. Thanks for the suggestion Buff and Kelco I am glad it worked out for you

Well quick update. It appears there was a "short" on the board somewhere when Scan looked at it. Compliments to them btw great service.
Well I stuck with Abit and swapped the board out and the new board booted up with no issues.

Question I have post code 25 too!!!!

And I think it's my new nVidia 7600.

But it worked perfectly the first month and 2 days ago I got this post code 25...

I thought it was my HDD, because it started to sound weird, but today, after reading your post, I tried unplugging everything, and it only displays the error when I plug in the graphic card.....

    Any help with this???

What can I do???? Do I have to buy a new one??? Or change my Abit Motherboard???

By the way my system is as follows:

    PIV - 3 gHz
    Abit AI7
    1 gb RAM DDR
GeForce 7600 256 RAM (its says it can run either in AGP2 or in PCI Express slots)

    Any help???
