    Abit FP-IN9, won't post!

I just got this system(mobo+cpu+mem) in the mail today, put it together with my new 8600gt as well then when I go to boot it up I just get a blank screen & 1 long and 2 short beeps.....so after messing with it for hours I took it out and put in a old 3dfx voodoo3 PCI card(which im use right now) and took the other back for an exchange. Needless to say the new one doesn't work either and I get the same beeps.

What gives? Im running the latest bios also.

    thanks

Maybe you had the card in the wrong PCI-e slot?? If you had to enable SLI mode, doesn't that turn on the 2nd PCI-e?

Nope, I had it in the "master slot" and it still is right now.....and yea it turns on both slots, thats why I can't understand why it wouldn't work in normal mode.....buggy board maybe?

    success!

Been pulling my hair out also trying to get my new build to post. Was getting the same error code and so tried two graphics cards, messed about with different ram etc etc..finally pulled everything out of the case to check if something was shorting but to no avail - had all but given up thinking the mobo was screwed. As a final thing I thought i'd check one last time to see if I could find anything that I hadnt tried and found your post...never occurred to me to try switching the mobo to sli mode having only one gfx card installed..this must be a bug?

oh well, hope it hangs in there...!

I just purchased the same mobo, runnin' an 8800 GTS. Had same problem, smokes' solution worked for me too. I looked up the post codes (iwas getting 1 long 2 short) and it listed non recognition of video BIOS. I switched to SLI mode and it posts just fine, thx smoke!
