    AB9 Pro HDD Issues

Seem's that my board is knackering hard drives, same channel two seperate drives now, both WD 250Gb jobbies, get the normal Delay Write error via XP and the WD tools says the following..

Quick Test on drive 5 did not complete!
Status code = 04 (Unknown failed test element), Failure Checkpoint = 64 (SMART Attribute Test)
SMART self-test did not complete on drive 5!

Anyone else getting anything similar, wondering if its the latest BIOD as I only started getting these problems after I upgraded the BIOS to version 19..

Is SMART turned on in the BIOS? The test would fail if it isn't enabled... I think...

I've updated to BIOS 19, now the machines really unstable, crashes and resets randomly, error logs show nothing...

Oh well an excuse to upgrade to a P5K.....

    Re: AB9 Pro HDD Issues

Ive had no problems with the bios 19, and have been running bios 20 for a week or so now. I have 4 maxtor HD on the system of varying age, no issues seen but will keep an eye on them, no WD's tho, might have one lying around so will hook it up and see if it has any issues

FYI AB9 Pro Bios 20 link
