Hi Blitzen,
Thanks mate, i owe you one.
if I could just get the retention wires for the fans i'll be playing with a full deck
cheers
Did you have any probs getting it to see your raid drives etc for installation?? for the vista 64, I was a beta tester of even rc1 and it was a dog to get to load on some motherboards

I'm on XP & used a slipstreamed cd.
I used the Vista BTA 32 & 64 & had no issues, though i installed through XP with the BTA. Haven't felt the urge to move from XP just yet. Upgraded XP to SP3 seems fine.

No problems mate.
Blitzen could you help, could you post the 64 bit drivers you used, or the most upto date ones for chipset, raid, and F6 disk , does it need 64 audio or does the abit ones do as they say on the box?
thanks getting ready for the final boot, ps please email you address so I can get the header from you
thanks ROB

@ Sean
There seem to be issues with 45 nm CPUs on the Board, are they even officially supported yet?
Abit REALLY REALLY needs to improve customer service, its ridiculous enough that i have to post here to have any chance of getting a sensible reply where there should be email support etc.
However the biggest Problem Abit has atm is the super slow BIOS support. How can it be that there is no 45nm update for the AB9 QuadGT (and from what i've read there probably even wont be), when Asus, Gigabyte etc have way better support?
Abit always was kinda slow but atm its really getting very bad. not only is it slow but in BOTH the latest AB9 and IX38 QuadGT BIOSes there are bugs..In the case of the AB9 the well known AHCI bug and in case of the IX38 missing support for 45nm multipliers as well as issues with memory performance.
Don't get me wrong, I always liked my Abit motherboards but this REALLY needs to improve otherwise i will have to start looking for other manufacturers
I want to buy one of the Abit IX38 boards as I'm still hanging around here waiting for my Asus P5N32E-Sli to be returned from RMA. However I'm not sure if I shold take the plunge after reading all the stuff about them being troublesome. As I've already got a decent Asus would you recommend I get one of these? I love tweaking systems and the BIOS looks challenging on this board, i'd just like to be reassured that if I do buy one It will boot ok and function well before I start pushing up the FSB and Memory. Not planning on 45nm just yet.
Advise welcome
TIA

dont worry it works quite well, theres just a minor issue with .5 multipliers and 45 nm cpus.
otherwise its a very good board.
Thanks for the reply CeeJay_ I've decided to go for the Asus Maximus Formula now though as it seems like a more predictable board going by the reports and reviews I've been reading recently.
