Update, I definitely think there is a problem with the motherboard. I boot up the board and it will go to bios with either the new or old cpu. I then try to reboot it - nothing.
Connect seperate things, nothing.

Take it back to basics, reseat cpu and it works once again (only once though).

So ruddy annoying. Going to ring up scan now to see if they can do a quick swap of the motherboard.

Sorry to boost the thread, but will this board support 45nm Wolfdale based Penitum Dual core CPU's (e.g. E5200). They are not officially listed, but I am wondering if it will work anyway...

Can anyone tell me the default volts on this board for North Bridge etc.

I have a E4500, and now 4GB of XMS2 Corsair RAM running at 5-5-5-18.
I thought it was just my Hiper PSU playing up previously but after installing a Corsair HX520 and the new RAM it will only post periodically, and now when it posts it asks me to reset settings back to default.

I am running the CPU at stock 2200Mhz at stock voltage 1.13/1.15 with the RAM being fed 1.8V or 2.0/2.1V it just doesn't want to post.

Please help me :s I spent £100 to help alleviate these problems, as I had been getting increasingly more BSOD so I presumed it to be the memory, and I've swappedmy Hiper after some bad reports, but it seems it was doing just fine

What speed are you trying to run the RAM at mate? I had to drop mine down to 866MHz (5,4,4,12,2T) top stop random boot errors (even though it was perfectly stable in Windows).

I have an unreleased Beta BIOS for this board if you want to give it a go. Drop me a PM with your mail address if so.
