So I heard 6v is possible through uGuru?

Well, I was a bit disappointed when I first heard uGuru only allowed a minimum fan voltage of 8v. But now I've been told that you can actually set the minimum fan voltages as low as 6v through uGuru in Windows and this will then be stored in the BIOS/CMOS, is this correct?

    *opens up uguru*

epic I never knew about this!

Ooh it goes all the way down to 0v.

My CPU is reporting 0*c again lol. Seems to sometimes work and sometimes not... *shrug*

My computer just went silent. But it took a bit of fudgeting. I'll see if it crashes

I heard it goes all the way down to 0v, but only something like 6v physically. (Ie, you can set it lower but it won't give a lower output.) Again, this is only what I've heard.

This is my experience too, not sure if newer models can turn the fans entirely off (would be ace )

I hex edited Uguru a while back when it wouldn't allow you to choose lower than 6v to allow lower, but it always read 6v at the fan points

Re: So I heard 6v is possible through uGuru?

I think that abit have to cover themselves in the event of some idiot potentially setting fan speed/temp levels such that he ruins something & then tries to sue them for allowing him to do so
hence you can't set 0. also most fans need at least 4V to start.

If you buy yourself a quiet enough fan, it should be inaudible @ 6v anyway.
