BIOS issues with an IP35 pro

I'm in the process of putting a new system together, IP 35 PRO, Quad core Q6700, 2 x 2Gb DDR2 6400, 80Gb Hitachi SATA as boot drive, 2 x 500GB Seagate in RAID 1 and DVD SATA ROM. OS is Vista 32 bit Ultimate, graphics card is an Nvida 8800 GT. The hard drives are currently all new and blank.

With SATA set to IDE in the BIOS, the BIOS sees 6 SATA channels with 4 currently populated as above. When I set SATA to RAID, the BIOS only sees 4 SATA channels with nothing on them so it wont boot from the DVD as a consequence! BIOS version is the latest at 17 and I had the same issue with an earlier version at 14.

Any offers please ?

scroll right down to the bottom of the boot devices (the list is larger than the window) & see if your DVD is listed by exact device name rather than just a generic CD/DVD-ROM label - should be about 2nd last entry.

Problem sorted thanks ! It suddenly decided to boot off the CD and its away now !
