Did you try some voltage settings with BIOS 18? Just for fun..

A question BIOS 18 did reconigze exacly your CPU?

Little overvolt on the CPU and N.B / CPU_VTT settings could be heplfull, remmenber only change the N.B voltage if you do some active cooling on it you will need some cooler on N.B. Help me a lot here.

Very easy task by the way, just 40x40mm 4 U$ fan with 3 pin pwm connector. Some 1.43v on N.B and 1.36v could do the trick very well for FSB1333 and a QUAD CPU with stock settings, some 1.28v on the CPU could help, just for fun really... huauhauhauhauh

    See ya

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

Well ... I moved on with the Q9550 in a P5Q and will let the E6600 running in the FP-IN9.
But the FP-IN9 rig is not operational so I can not check.

    Thank you.

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

    Hello!
    My little story:
I change my old E7200 to Q9400 (R0), clear CMOS and FP-IN9 SLI with BIOS ID 16 will starts! But CPU temp is 92°C!
    - Wow! - say Mobo, and switch off.
After disabling CPU shutdown temp Mobo will start again, without any alarms.

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

    This is not all
Q9400 does not recognized on BIOS ID 16. It run on 2000MHz, 6x1333QPB.
Windows 7 x64 crashed with 0x0000003e error, Ubuntu 8.04 starts normally. After reinstalling Windows Vista x64, in device manager found 4 unknown processors. Sad
To correct this, i googled HEXUS forums.
With latest BIOS ID 18 all problems are resolved!
    That's all!

Yes, Quad E0/R0 supported , but i can't overclock it . Neither FSB changing, nor SLI-Ready profile in SPD is not working.

middle three hundreds fsb is all that you'll get out of any 650SLI chipset mobo with a quad so you are already there at 333fsb hence no overclock.

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

How about SLI-ready memory? With simple enabling it is not working. With overvoltage NB up to 1,36 V it working unstable. With 1,56 V NB is very hot!

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

Do the BIOS update under DOS mode, maybe this help you out... Your CPU is E0 or R0?
If Zhukov make it work you should make it too, very odd situation.

Try to use BIOS18 and a lower multi, just to test, maybe the problem is the 650i trying to hold of your quad in such high CPU clock. The Q9400 and the Q9550 have the same FSB i guess, but diferent clock speed´s, maybe this can help you out.

    Good Luck !

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

May be motherboard sets default CPU voltage lower than required in specification? If you see only black screen, you can test this with multimeter. My Q9400 works on 1,2 V by default. Specs tell me, it must work on 1,35 V!

    Re: FP-IN9 and a Q9550

Zhukov do you have active cooling in the N.B ? To run FSB 333 with a quad Abit guys maybe had to increased the volts a little bit, and with passive colling this maybe a problem. It´s a BETA BIOS thie version 18, so we can´t blame about it, i´m just trying to understand why with some folks BIOS 18 works very well, and with other dont.

    Anyway 45nm C2D C0 & E0 seens to be fine with BIOS 16 and BETA18, the only mistery is the 45m C2Q Cpu´s.

    See ya

EDIT: About your C2Q vCORE, spec tells you the máx voltage setting, 1.35v, but the stock voltage is 1.2v with C1E enabled, i guess
