    i38 quad gt raid problem

    Hi all,

    New parts arrived, i38 quad gt, 9400 quad cpu. Confoguration as follows:

    Sata1 1x 500gb non raid to be system drive
    sata2 & 3, 2 x 1tb raid 0
    sata 4, 1 x dvdrw

    Heres what happens, if I set sata mode to raid, I can enter the raid bios no problem and create the disk configuration above, I start installing xp pro, press F6 and install the jraid drivers which detects fine, however shortly after I get a bsod. If however I change sata mode to non raid it installs fine. If I enable raid after it is installed then it blue screens on boot. This indicates of couse that the raid/sata drivers/f6 disk are incorrect. The ones I used were off the cd supplied with the board, version:

    [Version]
    Signature="$CHICAGO$"
    Provider=%JMICRON%
    ClassGUID={4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    Class=SCSIAdapter
    DriverVer=05/24/2007, 1.17.19.02
    CatalogFile=jraid.cat

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    iirc jraid is for the JMicron which controlls the 2 external SATA ports on the backplate & not the internal ports which are on the Intel ICH9R.

    That would of course explain it ! I did RTFM but it was about as much use as nothing, no info at all. Im out at the moment but will recheck the cd but I dont recall seeing any other "f6 drivers" It is something for me to go on now though, thanks very much, I'll post back once I've had a look.
