Question FP-IN9 - unofficial list of CPUs that work?

Hi, I've been reading on the forum that some/all? of the 45nm Core 2s don't actually work with the FP-IN9, although Abit says they should. I was wondering, has anyone compiled a list of which ones actually work and which don't?

I was just going to get a Q6600 before they go out of production and try overclocking it to 3GHz, but I understand the FP-IN9 isn't very good at this either?

I've not had any trouble with this board running an E6600 at stock speeds, so I was unaware it apparently has problems!

    Thanks for any input.

abit don't say that it will work with all 45nm steppings (at least on current BIOS)

no 650i SLI (not just the abit FP-IN9 SLI) is good at fsb overclocking a quad, you'll usually be lucky to get middle 300s.

Apologies for being slow, but does this mean that a 1333FSB CPU, even of the correct stepping, won't work at its full rated frequency in the FP-IN9 due to the limitations of the 650 SLI chipset? Or does this only count when overclocking a 1066FSB CPU?

afaik it's not actually limitations of the chipset but limitations of the original reference design for supporting components (PWM etc.) that nVidia issued. To be fair this is because Intel didn't originally tell nVidia everything that they should have about quads.

You should be able to get 1333fsb with a supported quad (duals aren't a problem) but don't expect any more & you woon't be disappointed.
