    MCH Voltage

    Hello.

Is it normal for the AW9DMAX to suddenly start requiring MCH 1.55V? It has been running happily at the default 1.5V for 2 years but now it requires 1.55V.

    Ballistix 2X2GB DDR2-800 2.2V

    Thanks

    Re: MCH Voltage

Could be related to PSU / component wear and tear. If you're using the system daily, then it's to be expected.
Going from 1.5V to 1.55V is only about a 3% change. Over 2 years, that's quite good. Keep in mind that you don't know how close to the edge it was running at 1.5 anyway.

You need a multimeter and the points on the mobo to measure the true voltage.

it could also be the RAM aging or a combo of both.

    Re: MCH Voltage

    Hi.

For a couple of years I was using Ballistix DDR2-800 2 X 1GB 2.2V. Then I started getting C1 error. Memtest showed sticks to be defective. The replacements were identical except now they require 2.0V. With these sticks I couldn't even get into bios. I had to use one stick of 512MB DDR2 to get into bios and up the MCH voltage. Then everything was OK.
