    Fan control ?

    Hi

I have a Q6600 on a IP35 Pro board, 2 gig ram and currently running at standard speed.
A while ago the fans would speed up and slow down depending on load.
Then this all stopped and now, a couple of months on I've decided to work out why as the noise is a pain in the ....

The issue is that whilst I can change the parameters in uguru to change the fan speeds it makes no difference to the fan speeds.
I've also tried in Bios using the uguru function with no luck either.
I've updated bios to 17 as it was 14 but again no change.

The CPU fan just sits at 2900 rpm, the sys and Aux fans also just sit at between 960 and 1020 rpm and it makes no difference what I do.

I tried using speedfan program and again I can change settings but the fans continue to run at the same speed.

    Any Suggestions

1st off the Sys & Aux fans are 3-pin & the CPU fan is 3 or 4-pin?

when you updated BIOS did you clearCMOS?

    Re: Fan control ?

The CPU, SYS and AUX1 are using 3 pin plugs

and I also have AUX2 & Aux3 fans using 2 pin plugs (These obviously don't register via UGURU)

All the fan terminals on the board have 3 pins - there does not appear to be any 4 pin

CMOS was reset as I was clocked to 3mhz with a slight tweak on the DDR voltage.
I cleared CMOS back to the default settings via the manual BIOS process.

    Re: Fan control ?

so you cleared CMOS via the jumper?

The CPU fan header is 4-pin.
Obviously Aux 2 & 3 won't be controllable via FanEq as they are only 2-pin.
