    AB9 Pro issue

Hello, I'm new to the forums and wanted to ask if anyone had an issue with clocking on AB9 Pro?
Here is some info about my PC, I copied this from Everest.

    Field Value
    CPU Properties
CPU Type DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E6420
    CPU Alias Conroe
    CPU Stepping B2
    Engineering Sample No
    CPUID CPU Name Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz
    CPUID Revision 000006F6h
    Core Voltage 1.188 V

    CPU Speed
CPU Clock 1632.0 MHz (original: 2133 MHz)
    CPU Multiplier 6x
CPU FSB 272.0 MHz (original: 266 MHz, overclock: 2%)
    Memory Bus 408.0 MHz
    DRAM:FSB Ratio 12:8

    CPU Cache
L1 Code Cache 32 KB per core
L1 Data Cache 32 KB per core
    L2 Cache 4 MB (On-Die, ASC, Full-Speed)

    Motherboard Properties
    Motherboard ID 08/16/2007-i965-W627EHG-6A79LA1AC-21
    Motherboard Name Abit AB9 Pro (2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Dual Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

    Chipset Properties
    Motherboard Chipset Intel Broadwater P965
    Memory Timings 5-5-5-18 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
    Command Rate (CR) 2T
    DIMM1: Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz)
    DIMM2: Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz)
    DIMM3: Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz)
    DIMM4: Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz)

    BIOS Properties
    System BIOS Date 08/16/07
    Video BIOS Date 11/10/06
Award BIOS Type Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
    Award BIOS Message
    DMI BIOS Version 6.00 PG

    Graphics Processor Properties
Video Adapter EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTX
    GPU Code Name G80GTX (PCI Express 1.0 x16 10DE / 0191, Rev A2)
GPU Clock (Geometric Domain) 576 MHz (original: 576 MHz)
GPU Clock (Shader Domain) 1350 MHz (original: 1350 MHz)
Memory Clock 900 MHz (original: 900 MHz)

Now if i try to clock it even a little bit my system gets unstable and get the blue screen of death after sometime.
I went to BIOS and changed everything to default but I'm worried why does it say "CPU Clock 1632.0 MHz (original: 2133 MHz)" like it's under clocked.
Does anyone know anything about this please? (I'm still pretty much a noob when it comes to clocking so don't flame me )

    Re: AB9 Pro issue

All modern CPUs adjust their frequency up and down according to how busy they are. Your CPU does this by adjusting the multipler.
Your measurements were taken at idel, so the multipler is down at x6 - were your system busy, this would automatically go up to x8.
This is a good thing - it saves a huge amount of power (and heat) and for the most part is invisible.

You haven't said what you are clocking, but on the AB9, you should change the FSB. How far you can push it depends upon the CPU cooling and luck! Some AB9 boards will let you push the bus much higher than others.
Try 280 as a tiny step, then 290. You should get 300 without having to play with voltages and assuming you have good system and CPU cooling. Remember to push the system hard at each stage.

    Re: AB9 Pro issue

I have water cooling system and I'm 100% sure my cpu is overheating.
I tried clocking it just a bit and still every 30min-1h i get a blue screen of death :S
could it be that something is connected well on my motherboard or just an error on my motherboard or cpu?
