    what BIOS are you on?
Your best bet is http://www.abitshop.eu/bios/m624b_18.bin (this is different than the 1 on the abit global server, it's a beta) but if your CPU is an RO stepping it still may not work.

just disable the BIOS temp warning & shutdown then & use another app for temp. reading.

Sorry, but i think every software to read temperature of CPU read the motherboard temperature, so i still have the same problem. don't you think the same?.

    Re: Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI with Intel core 2 Duo E7400 2.8Ghz

    Actually maybe not Horus.....

When i upgrade my CPU some time ago and had temperature problems the only problematic reading was the CPU temp. Both Core1 and Core2 temps where showed corretly by Core Temp.... Maybe this is your case, but i´m not sure....

Anyway, if you use Stock settings, no changes on the vCORE value, forget about tempeture problems. Those 45nm C2D CPU´s are cold as Ice, even at Full Load. Just be sure that your cooler is perfecly fifted, and you will be ok dude ! an aftermarket cooler is also a good option, Cooler MAster Hyper TX work fine here to me, and the costs are close to nothing!

Even if you put some O.C on it, there´s no problem at all, the vCORE is so low that the temperature dont increase too much. The only problem is if you out your vCORE above the stock value.

You could spend some cash on other motherboard, but i whould not botter at all.

    Good Luck dude !

nope, as jclafi mentioned something like coretemp will probably show the correct temp.
The BIOS & these apps are reading the internal sensor of the cpu but as abit isn't updating BIOS code for new CPUs anymore so the BIOS isn't reading them properly whereas these apps are still being updated.
