    A-bit question

Picked up a faulty machine from a m8 today - dead maxtor by the look of it. He could not find the chipset cdrom while I was there and I now need 'multimedia audio controller' and network controller' drivers. Did not realize there were about 8 different variants of the NF 7 . This one seems to be a abit-NF7 as designated near board CPU and also has a large chip with nf7 in big letters situated about 3 inches from the battery. Board appears to use award bios V6.00PG and possible bios string 08/19/2004 nvidia-nforce- 6A6 1 BA 1 BC -26. Am I correct that this one would be a straight NF7 version and is this 'drivers collection.com' best place to download drivers from for A-bit.

    Re: A-bit question

that BIOS date makes it look like an NF7 V2 or NF7-S V2.
you should be able to get the audio driver (may be a standalone) & the network driver (part of the nVidia Universal Driver Pack) from nVidia's website.
realtek AC97 audio driver should also work.

you could also see if abit's ftp is working atm http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/mothe...d_archives.php
