Hi,
I'm a novice here, so the reason I register, because my Ix38 quadgt is very hot and the cpu starting tempreture is 53 celsius.
As I read there is a beta bios which is solve this question, but the link hasnt existed yet. So how can I contact anybody who has got this beta bios or similar problem?
Otto
Beta BIOS for the IX38 QuadGT:
ftp://91.121.194.115/pub/download/bi...0-stepping.zip
This fixes wrong temperature readout with 45nm CPUs (Core 2 Duo E7xxx/E8xxx, Core 2 Quad Q8xxx/Q9xxx, Pentium Dualcore E5xxx/E6xxx, Celeron Dualcore E3xxx).
If you're not using a 45nm CPU and still get high temperatures, the problem might be the cooler itself (or you're using a Pentium 4 hotplate )
Create a DOS USB Stick and copy the contents of the .zip onto it.
Boot from it on the IX38 QuadGT and type "runme.bat" and hit enter.
You can create a bootable DOS USB stick (or bootable CF/SD-Card in a card reader.. doesn't matter) with a utility called "Rufus". You don't even need to install it. Just use the portable version.

Hi Bambooz,
I dont even beleive that somebody will ansver, so thanks a lot.
I'd like to ask you that is the same beta bios that Infected mentioned?
"I recently downloaded the last bèta bios
"m704b" from the "BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping"-thread. And
that BIOS works very nice for my Xeon Quadcore X3370 (aka Q9650 E0).
Thank you very much already, even Virtualisation Technology and the
CPU temperature reading is working correctly now"
Or I have to modify it to xeon cpu?
I use an X3363 xeon proc, and the motherboard was coming from Berlin in a few weeks before.
Thanks
Regards
Otto
Hi Bambooz,
As I've learnt there is a significant difference between X3370 and X3363 what I haven't known until now. The socket is different, but that cannot be differs regarding the bios. This is just a note. As you think I made my socket to fit 771 xeon also.
regards
Otto
Hi Bambooz !
Maybe because this is not EO stepping, but it doesnt work !
thanks anyway

Otto
