    Abit IP35 & Q9400 Please Help

Hi, i have the Abit IP35 (not the pro or the e, just the regular one) and i am using bios 18.

    I upgraded from core 2 duo e4600 2,4 Ghz (conroe) to q9400.

Now the pc won't even post but i see that fans are turned on and also i can hear the hard drive. I tried various things, clearing the cmos, leaving only the necessary pc components, checked the connections etc.

I tried putting back my old cpu and the pc is working fine.

As i saw in the ip35 cpu support list the q9400 is listed as "Test" what's that suppose to mean?

I want to know if the q9400 is faulty or my mobo doesn't support it.

What i find weird is when i have the q9400 installed if i completely remove the ram the pc won't beep when i turned on.

Is there anything i can do to make the q9400 work? Like using an older bios or use a custom/hacked one if exists. Assuming of course that my new cpu isn't faulty.

    Yes but unfortunately didn't help.

I found the gigabyte GA-EP43-S3L in a store cheap yesterday and i bite the bullet and buy it and the q9400 is working like a charm.
