    IP35 Pro won't boot

    My system:

    Abit IP35 Pro
    Intel Q6600
    6 gb ram
    ati 4870
    Intel x25-m 80 gb ssd

I used to have this system overclocked to 3.2 gHz (333*9). However, I guess the bios got reset at some point and was returned to factory settings (2.4 gHz - 266*9). I recently got a new 24" monitor and was experiencing some lag, so I went into the bios to overclock it back to where it was. I changed the frequency, and bumped the voltage up to 1.345v (I think this was the voltage I was using when it used to be overclocked). I also changed the ram multiplier to 1.2 so that it would still run at DDR2-800, which it's rated for. After saving, the computer would POST, but I couldn't get into Windows. There were some graphical artifacts at the top of the screen, so I assumed the overclock wasn't stable. I tried bumping the voltage to 1.365v and 1.385v, as well as reducing clock speed to 2.8, 2.4 (stock), and eventually 2.0 gHz. Every time it booted it would still give that issue. I went into the bios and reset to fail-safe settings, and eventually was able to get it to boot to the windows login screen. However, my keyboard and mouse were not functional. I tried plugging them into other USB ports without any luck, and I have also tried booting with a PS/2 keyboard, which hasn't worked either.

At this point I really have no clue what's wrong. I have tried swapping sticks/locations of ram already. I want to think it's the motherboard but I'm not sure. I'll probably try swapping the video card tonight and see if that does anything.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Dude,

Try to Clear CMOS using the Jumper on the MotherBoard. Turn the mobo ON with the jumper on Clear mode...

    Good Luck !

    Re: IP35 Pro won't boot

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that. I'm pretty sure you just move the jumper over to clear the CMOS, and then back to where it was to boot. I couldn't get it to boot with the jumper in the clear position. After doing that though, it seems to have the same problem.

Thanks again, let me know if you have any other ideas!
