AN8 Ultra error code 0.4.

Ive had the same problem some time ago..

Sean told me to reseat the memories and it worked.. once.

After that it would only randomly turn on..
Then i sent it to where i bought the computer they told me the computer was fine that it never had any trouble with them turning on..and now i have it back hum... and it just works again.. dunno what the hell hapenned...

I just know i tried different memories i tried a lot of stuff..but it would just turn on (i mean, booting because it turned on but no signal on the screen and 0.4 e the post) when it wanted to.

My specs (to see if we have anything in common):

AMD 64 3500+ (clawhammer :/ i wish it was venice)
nVidia 6800GT
Twinmos memory 1GB
Abit FAtal1ty AN8 Ultra

MY mobo has been fine since i unclipped the heatsink - I added memory etc and it runs totally stable. The 754 heatsink fixture is a nightmare - the locking arm is almost impossible to close - because it's just too tight. So simply don't bother!

Yours sounds wierd too huh? They probably found out it was something they did wrong, so they fixed it and just said it was working fine all the time so they don't look bad!

You guys are suffering from the same symptoms I was getting with my Ultra board. If the PC crashed, I would go to turn it on then get the 0.4 error. After a few days it would magically start up again without a complaint.

After awhile I'd had enough and went out and purchased a new board, no problems since. Just beware that it could happen again but fingers crossed you don't have the same problems.
