Likes: Silence. My brother has an Antec case in his room (can't remember which off the top of my head) and if he has his screen off, I'm perfectly unaware his PC is even running!

Dislikes: Cost. They are expensive. I understand paying for quality, but £100 for a case is still a hell of a lot.

Likes: Quality always seems to be right up there and you don't treat MicroATX users as second class citizens. Taste, Antec often makes more tasteful cases in the gamer market.
Dislikes: Conservatism, Antec tends to stick with a design and iterate the hell out of it. Personalisation, Antec is a high quality brand it would be nice to have slot in replacement side panels or doors to match personal taste. Dell manage it with their to order machines and Apple with laser etching.

What is like about Antec cases is the balance between price, build quality and thermal/acoustic properties. I don't want cheap as chips and bog standard, I want good value for reasonable price. Antec offers that!

What I don't like is sometimes in the cases it comes with a fan too few. 1 pushing and 1 pulling would be great bundled together. I know its an easy thing to do myself, but it is just a small gripe!

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: win an Antec Mini P180 chassis and TruePower

What do you love about Antec chassis?

My Antec 900 was the first chassis I ever bought, and I was pretty young at the time. I can remember being so happy because it was huge, in comparison to every other PC in the house, and those of my friends and amazed both them and my family alike. The sturdy construction and black exterior gave it a monolithic appearance, and the cooling capacity was unmatched for the price at the time.

I think that Antec obviously got something right with the 900, it appeals to both "gamers" but also enthusiasts who just want to keep their components cool for a reasonable price. The features such as the nifty top tray for stashing USB drives, thumbscrews and general PC paraphernalia in are well thought out, and there are at least 3 things of mine which now live in the tray permenantly!

The case is easy to work in, and I like the fact that the hard drive bays are modular, so you can choose where to mount optical drives and direct airflow as you see fit. The included fans are also very high quality for bundled ones, a couple of issues here though that I will go into below.

The monster fan on the top of the 900 is pretty much one of the main reasons I bought it! Having a large fan, which can spin silently and still shift a tremendous amount of air, in a location where it's taking advantage of the fact that hot air rises, is just good engineering sense.

My experience with the 900 has made me more than likely to buy from Antec again, as with each revision their products just get better and better.

What do you dislike about Antec chassis?

Well, there are a few things which come to mind here, such as the molex connection fans which are bundled with the case. I think that the TriCool fans are absolutely superb, the lighting effect is nice and subtle, and they are whisper quiet. However when the time came for me to fit a fan controller, I had to replace all 3 120mm fans, which was a little irritating.

Also there is a major problem with dust on the original 900. Dust builds up at a rapid pace within the case, and if you're using the case to house expensive components, this is not a good thing. It's good to see that Antec took these considerations into account when they released the 902, but it would be great if they could release some dust-filters specifically for the 900. Dust also builds up on the surface of the case itself, most notably the trapezoidal cutouts at the front of the top of the case. These are very difficult to clean and smoothing them would not have detracted from the aesthetics of the case.

Inside the case cable management is made much easier by the two holes in the motherboard tray, but they are not really enough, it would be great if Antec had fitted some holes at the top and bottom of the motherboard tray for 4pin power and other cables to be routed.

That concludes my entry, obviously that has been written only from the point of view of one case, but I feel that as it is the only Antec chassis I have owned, it's the only one I can comment on in any more detail than external aesthetics.

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: win an Antec Mini P180 chassis and TruePower

I would have to say that my favorite thing is their constant work(and success) to produce cutting edge case designs

I really only have 1 complaint about them, and that is the cases are not for the budget minded. I can understand that cutting edge design comes with a pricetag, but it would be nice if some of those pricetags were a little smaller.

    What I Like:
I like how silent they are and the quality of the cases.

    What I Dislike:
Cable Management is sometimes an issue. They are sometimes pricy but I guess that comes with quality.

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: win an Antec Mini P180 chassis and TruePower

    Hi all,

Looking at this page for more information on the case on the antec website

    1) What do you love about Antec chassis?

I love Unique upper and lower chamber structure, the whole inside structure reminds me of my antec p180 case. It has all the correct compartments and cooling inside that is needed to make a fanastic mini rig for gaming. The cable management is a great bonus also so no complaints about the inside well designed and thoughout.

    2) What do you dislike about Antec chassis?

Most people would say the ouside of it looks nice the outer case design. I myself dislike it, if i was to see it in a shelf shop I wouldnt go for it. They say dont judge a book by the cover but considering this case will be seen by my mates and me all the time its external look is as important as the stuff inside it. Firstly the cutting, air slits need to go, thoose diagnol slits or cuts not sure of the name for them at the front of the case move the front USB and sound also to make it look nicer. The top ones not so bad.

But yeh I dislike the outside of it.

    Thank you.

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: win an Antec Mini P180 chassis and TruePower

    I love:

    - The quality (materials, construction) of antec cases
    - The budget-priced cases are still of great quality
    - The design of the cases is simple and pleasing
    - The variety of cases means that you can go flashy or build one for your grandma

    What I don't like:
    - Not enough cable management features
    - lack of removable motherboard trays

That is all I can think of. I really love antec cases. They are solid, well-built, well-designed cases. Antec is king of the hill!

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: win an Antec Mini P180 chassis and TruePower

I had an Antec Aria SFF case a while back.

    1) What do you love about Antec chassis?

I really liked the small size, the good sound insulation and the overall design. It worked well as an SFF case, but unlike some others, it could hold three hard drives, and a Mini ATX motherboard. The internal layout was quite well thought out, and the outside looked attractive enough to put in the living room.

    2) What do you dislike about Antec chassis?

The PSU. It only came with 300W PSU, and worse it was a propriety one. The first PSU died on me so I had to warranty it, (Which took 3 weeks). If it had been a standard ATX PSU, then I would have just slapped a spare in, but as it was not I had to mount my whole system in a spare case which was a royal pain. I asked how much another PSU would cost (in case it failed again out of warranty) and they said £75. FOR A 300W PSU !! That was crazy.

The cooling on the Aria was not to great either. Would have been OK for a low power mobile processor, but whenI put a 95 W TDP Athlon in there it got toasty.

    Like:
The overall quality of build along with the decent cooling system.

    Dislike:
Well, the use of plastic definitely is not something I fancy ...

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: win an Antec Mini P180 chassis and TruePower

I love the quietness of the chassis, the cable management, the air filters on the front (P182), the different compartment for the PSU, HDDs, the easy insertion of HDDs and optical drives.

I have some reservations regarding the lack of complete sealing that lets in dust from the back and near the optical drives. I would like an air filter on the top fan (P182) so I could push air in from the top.

    I love my P182...

I love "the sex" Antec cases bring to case industry.

I dislike the lack of badgers that come with antec cases.

    1) What do you love about Antec chassis?
The laminated panels on the P180. Almost impossible to set up any resonance, and decent sound dampening even without a foam layer.

    2) What do you dislike about Antec chassis?
The new designs for the P183/p193. I understand one of the major complaints was low airflow with the door closed, but the new vent designs look rather ugly, especially on the previously impeccably clean lines of the P180/p190 series. That, and the P190 not being available without a PSU.

Re: HEXUS.winners win4FREE competitions: win an Antec Mini P180 chassis and TruePower

    pros

Solid - I'm still using my Antec tower (Antec Performance Plus) thats 5+ years old and I love as as much now as when I first got it, they are built to last

Design - I like the 'clean' lines and no BS design that have been done on most of their cases also the fact that almost everything from the fans to the HHD case is easy and fast to remove and install

Space - not so sure on the newer stuff but I can fit 10 HDD's in my current Antec case!

    Cons

Cost - As with alot of cases that are high spec they come in way over my budget for the ones I like

weight - again not so sure on newer cases but Some that I have had are like tanks to carry round

Weak points - In the past I've had things like the plastic pins that are used on the doors snap on me and the rubber feet fall off
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

I like the choice, from HTPC to microATX to full towers, antec has it all.

I dislike the pricing, as antec cases seem to have gotten more expensive over time. Also the lack of sealing where air should not flow.
