    Antec PSU issue ?

I have the Antec 750w true power which I purchased to go with the 300 case. In all respects but one, it has performed flawlessly, and looking at this thread it may be a more common issue.

Have you had anyone post about an issue on waking a Windows 7 machine from sleep or hibernation with an Antec PSU ? If so, what was the conclusion ?

    Thanks

It's the same for me - I'm using the PSU included in the Antec Minuet 350 case.

Does anyone from Antec ever check this forum or should I email them about this?

    Re: Antec PSU issue ?

I would be surprised if the PSU is the one causing the issue.. I'm sure an Antec rep will be along shortly to comment.

I'm using multiple Antec PSU's with both Win 7 32bit and 64bit with no related issues at all.

    Re: Antec PSU issue ?

My Akasa 500W is doing something very similar. Works fine once up, but if I sleep or switch off, it won't boot up again afterwards. Surely Win7 RTM can't be harder on PSUs? It must be a co-incidence that we're having PSU issues?!

Maybe - But I couldn't see any other similarities between the systems.

    Re: Antec PSU issue ?

It does seem to be a commonality, but I can't see how an OS can prevent a machine from booting up again? Surely that's a hardware-level issue?

    Re: Antec PSU issue ?

    Hi Phage –

I've inquired with Product Development, and it turns out that the sleep mode difficulty you've experienced is not related to the power supply.

In our experience, motherboard drivers and/or memory are invariably at fault in cases like this. You may wish to try updating your Windows installation, in particular sleep- and suspend-related drivers. As a side note, this sleep mode issue has been known to occur on notebooks, as well.

    Kindly,
    Veronica

    Re: Antec PSU issue ?

Just wanted to add the system resumes from sleep fine with Ubuntu so it's OS or software related. We also both have ATI GPUs so maybe it's the video drivers? I'll try disabling drivers in a minute and post if I find anything.

Edit: OK I've just tried diagnostic startup and the system resumed from sleep twice, see if it works for you too. It's looking more and more like CCC is causing this!

    Re: Antec PSU issue ?

    Another update:
I tried standby again with a normal boot and again it failed to resume so I tried uninstalling CCC to see if it worked and it did - the system has resumed fine every time I've tried. This isn't a gaming PC and the default drivers seem to work just fine so I'll leave CCC uninstalled. I'll try to contact AMD/ATI to inform them of this.
