Hi, you're right and I am sure we will have something new in the Performance series anytime soon. Maybe not this year anymore but next one.

    Re: What happened to Antec?

I've had nothing but Antec cases for, erm ages now, I tend to keep the case and upgrade the components so a decent case for me is quite a large part of a build as it'll outlast the components inside by a fair amount.

    Re: What happened to Antec?

I'm an Antec buyer myself - currently got the 300, which I like alot. My older PC has an NSK4000 case. I always like the internals of Antec cases, but some of the recent designs haven't been to my taste.

Mesh would have been a better idea, or something more original that would have from your excellent R&D. Sadly, it all went downhill from here. This is evident in the gaming cases as the Three Hundred is the only product I would buy. The Two Hundred would have been a nice case, would it not have been on the tacky front. The 600, 900, 902 and 1200 looks like it was designed by a 13yr old on crack mixed with LEDs and plastic. (ps. If you add in a window Antec, at least do it the Corsair way *cough*800D*cough*)

The rest of your cases are fine - the NSK series is of high merit as the 2 tone silver/black is sexy. All that needs to be done is to cull the range, update it (cooling wise & remove the case badge insert - case badges is so 2001) and volia - you have a hit. Your Sonata family needs a refresh - cooling & case badge insert removal would do fine although glossy black plastic is a big no no due to the high upkeep of keeping it nice.

If you don't know what to look for in your next case, try combining Lian Li and Corsair and sell it. You will have a hit on your hands if it has the zones of the P182, the design of Lian Li and the cable management of the 800D. Feel free to PM me if you need any ideas on what your next killer case should have.
This is just your opinion (which i biased as you are clearly a Corsair fanboy for no apparent reason).
I bought the Antec 900 when it first came out, around 4 years ago i think, and its that good, i dont want to change it. Before you ask, i am nearly 40, and not a 13 yr old.

I think the ANTEC cases are still decent, but i wouldn't touch one of their PSUs.

Because the true specification of your PSUs (not what is stated), is not as good as a couple of the other players in the market that you target.
    They are also horrifically over-priced.
I am not a Corsair fan in any way, as they are also seriously over-priced, but i would take one over an Antec every time.

Enermax PSUs are top of the tree, and the specifications are far more accurate than most other brands.

None of this can take away the fact that Antec cases are very well made and good value for money.

    Re: What happened to Antec?

I have a P183 and I think its a great case, the only think I don't like about it is the power button is behind the flap (understandable as the flap has a lock) however I can stick my finger though the holes to press the button! Defeating the point of the lock. Personally I think you should remove the lock and put the power button in its place. Things have moved on and it would be nice if drive cages were able to handle 2.5 inch drives, even better if they could handle a reasonable number of them (4+). I had to make my own adapter.

    Re: What happened to Antec?

Antec True Power was a fantastic range of PSU's but I've not had any recent ones to compare. The 440 Truepower I bought about a million years ago is in it's 4th machine running solid as a rock.

I'm not a particular fan of all the Antec chassis, some are, once again in my own opinion, less than pretty, BUT they are well built. Like a VW I guess. I don't like the look but I can't knock the way the dash board fits

However.... it has to be said...

    Re: What happened to Antec?

I actually like some of Antec's newer stuff like the Mini-P180. Its odd things like the Mini-P180s have painted interiors, but the P18#s don't.

As for aesthetics I agree beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However there seems to be a shift for some people from one style niche to another. I alienates people who would choose Antec without a moment's hesitation in the past.

If you see emotion in the threads, I think it is because we want Antec to do well, both in qualitative and quantitative measures.

Not really. Corsiar are quite overpriced at the moment, look at the 700D. Lian-Li is OK, noting special due to the overpricyness and lack of cable management holes ect.

    Hi,

Antec was the first company in 2001 that introduced true power output labels on power supplies, original TruePower series. Maybe now it comes into mind why the series was called that way. We have a vast array of power supplies, not all of them are overspec'ed but they sure as hell deliver their rated output power. The high-end models are all overspec'ed and give you in some cases MUCH more than you expected.

Overpriced? I wonder why the TruePower New series is the best high-end PSU price/performance-wise you can get at the moment. Some series like the Signature have their price because they were for example the first power supplies with DC-to-DC conversion and are made in the most sophisticated factory for power supplies in the world. That series was the ground stone for the upcoming High Current Pro series which again is made by Delta (as many of our other series now as well). So please, when you state Antec is overpriced it would be great to see a comparison as well and not only a blank statement. Thanks.

I wonder why they needed to close down the US and UK office... but this forum is surely not the place to speculate about other companies...
