SL user can save to Windows Server first time, but can't overwrite/modify?

We upgraded both Mac's in our organisation to Snow Leopard a couple of months ago. Since then our users have been struggling when saving to the our fileshare.

    The fileshare runs Windows 2003.

Basically the SL user can save their file to a folder that they have full rights to on the File Share, but cannot modify the document.

Instead they have to save the document locally with a different name and manually copy it to the File Share.

Its obviously a bug/permissions issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

not sure if this helps... I normally use my imac loaded with SL and if i try to edit a document on my other windows desktop it wont allow me to save it too. i had to save locally and then move it across.
