    Anti Virus program for Mac

I've got a Mac running Tiger.

Can anyone recommend a good free anti virus program? I've stumbled across one called "clamxav" - is that any good?

Its ok , its free which is a bonus. It also doesnt hog system resources like most of the other ones do.

And seeing as there are no mac osx viruses it pays not to worry and spend money on something you don't need.

When there are mac viruses for osx I guarantee there will be a lot of press about it

Sophos do AV software. Not free unfortunately.

There are some viruses for MAC OS. But the chances of being infected are significantly less.

There are no Mac OS X viruses never have been. There are concepts for them I beleive but no one has ever actually released one in the wild.

The only viruses that a mac can get are windows ones which do absolutly nothing at all on the mac.

The likelyhood of infection even if there was one released is smaller as to install a virus there needs to be user input unlike in the windows world.

Whilst OS X has yet to be affected by a significant virus, one can still pass on infected email and files to non-OS X users. So having AV software is good practice. Sophos is one of the better ones.
