Frontrow Question

Is there anyway I can get frontrow to play .avi files on the video menu? What about shared movies? Or do they have to be linked with an itunes library?

If you install the standard DivX codec (or whichever codec you want to use) for Quicktime they should play fine (or did at least for me).
