    Parallels on OSX! Awesome

I was considering using Bootcamp, but decided to try parallels first.

XP boots quicker in parallels than it does on my work IBM ThinkPad P4M 2.2ghz, 1gb RAM etc and thats with out 512mb ram assigned to that VM.

I've literally just finished intalling ubuntu linux into another VM as well.

All is very painless and easy to do.

    Fantastic piece of software.

unless you want to do anything useful of course You can't play Half life 2 in it, you can't use photoshop in it, you can't do anything that uses the graphics card (such as it is) in it..

With bootcamp you can play half life 2 (yes even on a macbook!), you can use photoshop faster than in OSX atm (because of rosetta) and much more...bootcamp > parallels by a long long way imho. That's because it's native though, so you would expect that

Also a painless install - create driver disc, create partition (all done in a wizard), boot off XP disc and it works just like a 'normal' laptop.

The switching thing doesnt bother me either - takes all of 40seconds to reboot from OSX to XP, and although that will take longer as I install more crap, for now its nice.
