    Question Anyone triple booting?

Im looking into getting a macbook pro and then Triple booting it with mac os, linux and windows.

I've checked the net and have seen that there are a few people who have done it, theres vids on youtube too.

So has anyone here done it? How do you find it? I'd probably use opensuse first if not dapper.

Secondly, i was going to ask if the 17incher was worth an extra £200, but i see you get a faster optical drive and another 20Gb space so im guessing it is.

A friend of mine keeps pestering me about tripple booting, looks pretty easy - although I'm not entirely sure why would would want to, lol.

17" Laptops are a joke IMO, go take a look at one first as I think are huge, lol (but then I think my 13" MacBook is a little big compared to the properly sized 12" PowerBook, lol).

I never tried tripple booting - but I know it's possible

as for if the macbook pro 17" is worth the extra - depends if you want a laptop or a desktop replacement

If a portable laptop then no, it just makes it heavier, and you can replace the hard drive with a bigger one yourself.

Also do you intend on gaming on it? If not, or if it's light gaming (wow, football manager etc) then consider the normal macbooks - half the price with the same CPU..the only realy difference between the two is the better graphics on the pro, and the metal case (which gets very hot in constant use..makes it hard to rest your hands on it according to my pro owning friends =) )

Thanks for that, good advice there, i'll pop down to dixons (sorry currys.digital now right?) and have a look, 13" just sounds really small.
Being able to customize the macbooks is useful tho, if only it was possible to customize the whole thing...

Heh - only thing I wish I could have customised is the graphics card, both the 12" power book and the old Mac Mini have actually had their graphis cards downgraded after moving to Intel

The MacBook pros seem to get VERY hot. I couldn't hold my mate's one for very long 'cos it hurt I just wonder how this affects their life.

Of course it could just have been the evil seeping out and burning me

lol, I presume its the x1600s making the heat/evil juice then seen as the core duos are supposed to run cooler are they not?

In which case would it be possible to overclock them?
