well, a nice touch but nothing to write home about on the basis it took one technitian 2 minutes to spam everyone.....

I'm sorry to have to disect it so, but its down to one thing.... Apple is a massive corporation that is no more "personal" than microsoft.
Apple knows that all the Mac fanatics will sigh and blush.........and give them more money.

Pretty sure, american companys are required to offer you a simple way to opt out of email lists. Just Apple making a big fuss over something everyone else has been doing for ages silently.

Your first statement was true once, when the Mac used multicore processors and 'PCs' didn't. Now it's all Core2Duo no matter which way you go, I doubt you'd see much difference with a new PC today vs a Mac. If you are really passionate about your PC to bother to compain about it on a forum, you could also take the time to overclock a conroe in a PC well past the stock speed for even more performance. Can you overclock in a mac?

they are innovative and come up with different ideas other companies don't!
The only innovative thing they have done is in marketing. Ipod is a much better marketed slightly more stylish Mp3 player than Creatives, iRiver, etc who were out before Ipod.
Have you been watching too many mac ads?!

Actually I thought this was more annoying than normal spam - normally companies send me an email _telling me something_ (i.e. it has a purpose/point) and most of them carry 'click here to unsubscribe' at the end so this to me seems er.. silly? Don't believe the hype kids - great packaging, great marketing and distinctly dodgy CS.

Well err no it can't..it's just the software that might be (or appear to be) written better..possibly because of the tiny number of hardware configurations it has to run on

Well written windows software combinations will work just as well as mac ones - and badly written mac software (eg safari) will be just as bad as badly written windows software (if that makes any sense).

I'm typing this on my macbook, using safari btw

OT - the email I quite liked - ok so it's one more piece of spam but it's handy to remind you to opt-out when you have automatically deleted the other ones..
