    Playing consoles on my iMac

I'm at university and I want to bring one of my consoles up from home but was wondering what option would there be if I don't want an actual TV. I've looked at these as possible options:

Elgato's eyetv 250 and eyetv Hybrid as both have the'game mode' I was just wondering if there are any others that I could consider? And does the hybrids HD really have any benefit?

    Thanks

both products seem to offer s-video as their best connection mechanism - which will look fairly crappy (okay on older systems, junk for anything vaguely modern)

unfortunately options are limited if you want to connect something recent properly (i.e. HD)
