BEST GOLF IN THE world are MK1/MK2 gti's
but if i hade to pic it would have to be the MK2 my friend had 1 about 4 years back and i must say it was fast but it hade stuff done to it i dont no what but it would sit @ 160mph+ all day long on the m42 lol
but my freind was raceing somewear and hit a speed bump @ 60 and killed the car dead shame but @ lest my friend is still here i hope.

The MG ZR 1.4 will beat a mark 4 gti.

My mates 1.6 zetec s with 103bhp which is virtually same as a 1.4zr beat a chipped mark 4 gti at santapod on oct 25th this year.

My focus 2.0 rapes the arse off a mark 4 golf gti, the old golfs were good, the new ones are a disgrace and anyone who buys one has more money than sense.

Can't agree with that. Some people are not interested in performance but comfort and the golfs interior is the best around.

My 2.0 focus has more extra's that a golf gti, just as well made and cost me 3thousand less than the golf gti.

The build quality on the new golf's isnt what it used to be. The focus isn't named as one of the best built cars for the last 3 years running for nothing you know.

Its not about "extras". The interior just isn't as good as the golf. Its not exactly a looker is it? For many the Focus just looks weird. Especially the 4 dr and the booted versions. If you want reliability and the best build quality you have to go Japanese. BTW who voted it as "one the best built cars" anyway and what were the "other", "best built cars"? How many of them were there?

I said focus's are just as well made. Well made meaning layout and reliability

And what has that got to do with the interior ? I've had 2 Focus and presently have a V5 Golf.

I'll blow any Focus off the road short of an RS, and I'll do so in a damn sight more comfort.
